I think some of it is debatable and this Forest stint will offer the answers.

How "brilliant" were they?

Apart from the last ~7 games of the first season when we had very few injuries, only the PL, and only managed wins vs relegated Luton, Burnley and Sheffield United, and 4 defeats.

Shocking. He didn't adapt our tactics when we were missing 7 or 8 starters in most league games.

I said when we had the perfect conditions which was very rare. The first 10 games, beating Villa 4-0 at Villa park, beating United 3-0 at old Trafford, beating City 4-0 at the Etihad. All top performances. With the perfect conditions, we played good football.

Because Marinakis will do a Leverkusen/Ten Hag on him (after collecting a couple toes) if things go left, but Ange will want to cling onto his "it's just who we are" brand.

The internal struggle he's about to experience is gonna be wild.

Not sure an "I sacrificed the league to concentrate on the EL" punt will go down well with Prince Vultan. 😆

Add in the Edu element and it’s a proper soap opera. Funniest bit is I bet they actually will play well for some of the season too, it won’t be all misery. They have now jumped to #1 on my must watch list behind us, if only for the sheer potential of it all blowing up.

That still stings me, we only finished 2 pts behind Villa! A better manager would’ve got us over the line imo. Everyone rightfully goes on about last season but some of the losses we had in 23/24 were a joke. Wolves home and away, Brighton away, getting completely slapped by Fulham after putting 4 past Villa away. Just terrible.

Ange feels like boom or bust but that owner will back him heavily in January so I reckon they'll have a strong season. I fully expect them to play us off the park home and away now but maybe we'll punish their high line and steal a result
