Some of their fans are optimistic about this actually. It's not all doom and gloom over there.

They think they have enough squad depth to meet the demands of his high intensity football that ravaged us last season, and there is some attacking firepower in their squad waiting to be utilized by a more attacking minded manager. They actually don't mind the stark contrast in style between these two managers.

I think they underestimate how big of a shambles our defense was under him for the most part, and therefore simply assume that they'll be able to outscore teams on a semi-regular basis with him in charge. I really doubt it but we'll see.
I think more so, they're probably severely underestimating what a shambles our attack was for the most part! So there are some metrics that give the illusion that we were good in attack, we had lots of possession in "attacking" areas, lot's of touches in the opposition box, on the face of it we even scored lots of goals so yeah, lot's to look forward to right?

Loads of goals scored in gluts, goals that didn't make any difference to the points haul, we'd almost always score one, but we'd concede two, and give away enough chances to have conceded four. We'd camp ourselves in the opposition half and pass the ball sideways and backwards in an "attacking area" creating next to nothing despite our dominance.

All of their wingers that shone in a counter attacking system that gave them acres of space to run into are going to be suffocated and expected to perform like Ginola or Figo. Their striker is going to get one or two chances per game and be crucified for not being prolific in such an attack minded outfit, their fullbakcs are going to spend 90 minutes either stood just outside the opposition D or haring back to help out the defence at 90 miles an hour.

It's going to be beautiful to watch as a neutral, and the only shame of it is that there's no chance he lasts the whole season.

Seen a few of them bring out what a lot in the media are saying. Eg first season he finished 5th and we had injuries last year.

Missing the point that other then that first 10 games we was constantly hanging around relegation form and the injuries where caused by the mental play style

Wont last the season
26pts from his first 10 games, then 40pts from his next 28 (12 wins, 4 draws and 12 losses). All in all 78pts in the 66 Prem games outside those first 10. Awful.

I agree, imo he’ll be gone by Feb, I think his relationship with Marinakis will give him some leeway.

Ange will succeed or fail on the strength of the coaching staff he brings in

Especially as the squad just isnt that well suited to what he wants

High quality coaches and he might pull it off

Jedinak and co again? Itll be a car crash
Mate...

Word is he's getting the boys back together!

:ange-arms:

🤣🤣🤣

Fucking Mile Jedinak, Rob Burch, Nick Montgomery and Stevio Raymundinho can't believe their luck! Even Steve Munn somehow in on the action apparently!

I'm caught between wanting to laugh at the idiots who were so passionate in their conviction that Ange would never manage in top level football again and the sense that this feels like it might well be a disaster which vindicates that viewpoint.

Right, people WAAAAAAAAY overrate the level of care that goes into managerial appointments at a lot of clubs in Europe's top 5 leagues.

It was a guarantee that someone was going to give Ange a shot if he wanted one, which he clearly did.

(One of the reasons Spurs supporters don't realize this is that Levy had a keener eye for managers than most)

Idiots hahahahahha

The guy's got a job because of a mate. It's going to be a disaster. Nobody else will hire him afterwards.

Marianakis is a fucking nutjob who has hired Ange because he's a fellow Greek. I hope its a disaster. I hope it finishes off Forest AND Ange - two twattish birds with one big stone.

Was thinking about this while out and about, and I have to admit I'm absolutely loving it. Will really add some further interest to the season.

I expect a bit of a bounce and an OK-ish first season for Forest as the decline sets in. The half-life of a team that knows how to organise and defend lasts about that long.

Two big fat bearded Greeks rubbing each up on the banks of the Trent! A sublime novelty for the Prem!

And wee Cucky Munn is back on the scene! LOL, I wonder if his great insight is still to "like youth"? It's genius that the gang are all de-camping to Nottingham. Here we go! Tel and Brennan for £60m a pop up there too??

When he runs out of fellow fat buddies to give him a leg up.

This is the definition of a who you know hire. It's hilarious all round and classic Ange. He tripped his way to Spurs, tripped his way to the EL and has tripped his way to another PL hire.

At some point the man's luck is going to run out.
Everyone knows who he is.

He is what’s available for a replacement at the first international break.

Again, more of the managerial marketplace is like this than you're letting on.

Whatever your assessment of his actual job performance at Spurs, he made himself a name in the narrative, and there's always a job for a name.

On the list of fraud managers out there Ange is nowhere near the top.

You bring up a tantalizing prospect - whom could we now offload there?
