True - my brother-in-law is a Saints fan and he still has no clue how Russell’s Martin got another job after last season’s shitshow.
I’ll just watch their weekly spankings on MOTD. There must be 19 coaches licking their lips thinking about a quick long ball or a ball down the left to expose the back line.
If Ange plays the same way, and there is no evidence he has ever changed, all the other managers in the league will be happy at this appointment. They already have a blueprint on how to beat his "system".
Some of you may disagree, and even get angry at what I am about to say, but it just reminds me of how glad I am he is no longer here. It was so miserable last year. It was a season that has shifted the fan's expectations to a lower level. No longer do we think top 4/5 is par but top 8 would be okay. I don't just blame Ange for that but he played a big part.
Yes EL win was fantastic but let's all be honest here. Let's all actually be honest with ourselves. We were favourites to win that, the competition is so much easier to win now CL teams don't go in to it. We were lucky that change came in last year. He said on two occasions he didn't tell the players to play the low block (in response to criticism); they just did it. His strong point is motivation though, so I give him praise for that.

Tbh the MGW saga pissed me off so much I just fucking refused to admit the transfer even existed for a while,
But Ange to Forest was obvious to me from the start
He's the kind of guy you see in business who can come in and get people excited, maybe even turns things around for a bit, but after the positive jolt from the motivational factor wears off I don't think he'll get long term results. I think Marinakis has an unrealistic idea of what Forest is capable of and probably believes bringing in Postecoglou will let them take a leap up in class. I don't see that happening, especially when they had a structure that was already working for them.

I think it is a bad match in football terms, but a good place for Postecoglou to land. Because of their shared Greek backgrounds, I think Postecoglou and Marinakis will communicate well. But I just don't see how dismantling a system that has produced some very fine football is going to move Forest forward.
He will move them forward, but leave plenty of space in behind.

If he is smart, he won't change too much now and just tweak them to be a bit more attacking. I can see them doing pretty well for a bit doing that and a few motivational speeches. But, yes, at some point when he tries to implement his inverted fullback kamikaze system , it will fall apart, not least because everyone knows how to beat it.
Match made in hell..Forest will be no threat to anybody now because everyone already knows how to play against Angeball...Nuno was doing a great job there...but the Greek connection was too strong..

They have a good squad that suit his style of play, with Nunos defensive coaching their he can build well

If Ange can turn the quality we had into Asda Smartprice, it doesn't magically mean he's going to make Chris Wood look like Harry Kane
