It started in 2018 when we didn’t sign anyone. Everything since then has been bad decision after bad decision.
Great post - absolutely spot on. Even before then too with the Nelson and Saha window!

We never capitalised when on the up, and going with momentum. Now we're trying to catch falling knives.

No young players coming through, issues with club trained players as well as home grown.

Often decisions like these don't immediately impact the squad straight away but years later. Similar to how keeping Gray and Bergvall at the club and developing them now will pay off later down the line hopefully (being club trained etc)

Ange most likely understood this, shame most of our "supporters" couldn't see the deeper issues at the club.

I hate my fellow compatriots.

1. Trying to argue we shouldn't have sacked him which is nothing more than misplaced patriotism.

2. That the UK media and fans unfairly hounded him out thru Greek-Australian racism.

Nonsense. The guy lost 34 league matches in 2 seasons.
His tragic football had to go.

He'd have needed almost two first teams for it to work. It was ineptitude by the board to hire him, not look at previous injury records on his first couple of seasons at his previous clubs. That intense system isn't sustainable for a small squad, as we found out, and when it went wrong, it went wrong horribly.

Not sure it would've worked out in the end, I have my doubts, but no doubt the club didn't do the proper due diligence and the appointment was failed was from the get go.
And the constant injuries this year are Ange's fault too? Give it a break.

The reason for so many injuries is pure and simply squad depth or lack thereof

Pretty fucking obvious if you could actually read fuckwit
If you could actually read, smart ass, you'd understand that I said Ange wasn't backed by the board sufficiently to cover the injuries that he's historically had in his first couple of years when he moves to a new club.

No where did I mention Ange impacting players injuries now. Good try buddy, get that hamster spinning a bit faster next time and you might get one.

I can tell that you're a man with an extremely high intellect.

I thought calling him a fat cunt and a dick sucker, numerous times was a bit over the top!
Maybe I am a bit more patriotic?
He won won us a major trophy, even though he had to go, bit of respect for that.

Wouldn't mind seeing Ange come back until the end of the season. Would be much more exciting than it is currently. I'm sure the players would still run through walls for him.
Can't help thinking about where we would have been today if we kept Ange?

He had his obvious flaws, but was liked and respected by the group of players, and was on a high with the EL cup. It was also a divided fan base on this, outside this forum I felt the general sentiment was keep, and we knpw the players wanted him to stay.

To answer my own question - most likely, not in the poisonous mess we are now
