Best, maybe not. Better than this mess, very likely.

What has improved under Frank?

Why does Frank being inadequate for our needs result in the bizarre defence of Ange after the fact?
He lost 34 league games in 2 seasons... Having started unbeaten in 10. His football was utter garbage.

You were the one speculating on whether keeping Ange would have been better than having Frank this season, the evidence tells you it would have been...

No. Your opinion says that.
Objective evidence says at the same time of the season it wasn't. Lower on the table with more defeats.

That he chose in early February 2025 to tank the league completely was a welcomed cup success, one that Frank won't be able to replicate given the harder difficulty of competition. But doesn't change that people are hounding Frank out but have forgotten it was worse under the manager prior.

So I again ask, why does Frank being inept have to be coupled with defending the same woeful football that went before him? Why can't both merely be true. Frank is crap but so was Ange.
Even the Cup Final was shite football, we were just a tad less crap than United.

Comparing the two season league placings and points tallies is 'objective' really? Even though the context, circumstances, and overall performances behind those numbers are completely different every season? I don't think so somehow.

Looking at league position at the same point in the season without any context doesn’t tell the story. Last year we dealt with injuries, huge squad turnover, European fixtures, and Ange was working with a weaker squad than Frank has now. Even with all that, the underlying performances were better — we created more, controlled games better than how we control now, pressed better, passed the ball better, created more chances and despite how shit we were we actually at least had a better identity last season.

Pointing out Frank’s shortcomings doesn’t mean last season was flawless. But pretending the two seasons are on the same level is lazy. Ange’s football, even when it went wrong, still had structure and promise. This season what can you hold onto that suggests anything of the sort?

And that cup final win wasn’t about being “less crap” — it was about delivering under pressure with a clear plan. Right now, this side doesn’t look capable of doing that consistently, we got to a final and delivered when it mattered, something that's not been done for 17 years prior and it sure as hell won't happen this season.

So sure, multiple things can be true at once — but trying to argue that last season was just as bad as this one is nonsense sorry.

We’d have been better off appointing Levy as manager than Frank this season - I’m may not even have been this toxic.

Ange was great in Europe but continually failed in the Prem after his first 10 games, he then went on to prove this at Nottingham Forest.

Yeah you're right, the first 10 games didn't count in his first season.

The funny thing is even if you took those first 10 games away from him he'd still have a better PPG than Frank does now 😂
