Back before the appointment of Timterim confirmed our season was over, I posted a new manager poll.

Given the post-season discussion has thrown up some interesting opinions as to who should take over, with no clear (from reading the forum) favourite, I thought I would post another one.

The above 3 have the lowest odds by some way with most bookies. The next choice for most bookies is also David Moyes but I have neglected to include him in this as I don't think there'd be any votes.

Above those 4 the odds seem to get a lot longer so I haven't included anyone else.

With the Someone Else option - post who that someone else would be if you're not satisfied with any of the above 3.

Peace

I think Levy wants De Boer, this extract from the THST minutes seems to describe him and preclude Benitez:

DL explained that we needed a manager who believed in our football philosophy, where we would be entertained
DL stated we have a very good group of players at the Club and, ideally, we want someone who can bring the best out of experienced players and bring through youth, too

FDB is probably most people's first choice, would take Pochettino as well. Really not sure about Benitez but if we can't get either FDB or Poch would take him.

Someone who controls the players and demands their respect. Secondly someone who specialises in fluent football. That paulinho goal against villa was quite good imo, short passes but with continuous movement. I would have happily taken bielsa a couple of seasons ago, unfortunately we weren't in for him

Pochettino is a Biesla student. Played under him and is a good friend from what I read.
Thats not to say he has the same style of course.

Voted Benitez

Would be quite happy with Frank de Boer and terribly disappointed with the poor man's AVB

Bit harsh calling him the poor man's AVB, he has done a good job at Southampton where as AVB screwed up the Chelsea job, the fact he has been quite good in England must count for something, added to the fact he likes to play attractive football. FDB still at the top of my list, could live with Benitez, good record and has great experience in England.

His record is far worse than AVB's in England. I think he's average and a lateral move at best, imv. Is that really the name we need to move forward?

Shocked to see more votes for Benitez than Pochettino. Understand the difference in experience... But Benitez is a boooooring cunt - tottenham don't be facetious - we don't want rafa benitez.
Rafa's 'boring' Napoli managed 77 goals - 2nd most in the league this season and only 3 behind champions Juventus

Sorry, mate but I don't think we can compare a proven European manager with 11 major trophies to his name (including the Champions Leagie and Europa League) to some nothing man who won a few games in the Prem and has been hyped up by the media and fanboys because he sat next someone famous once.

31 out of 37 votes gone for FDB so far, the way it should be

I have to say if it was November and we needed a guy for rest of season then I would go Benitez that's for sure, he would just give the assurance to stead ship

I haven't looked but is there anywhere Rafa saying he wants to leave Italy? He's at an improving champions league side with money, isn't this more a two horse race?

Benitez plays an effective rather than entertaining style of football. Fact is that good counter attacking, while sometimes dull to watch, yields almost as many goals as all-out attacking football. As we saw under AVB, being camped in the opposition half all the time means less space to work opportunities and more difficult opportunities when they do arise (unless you're blessed with a Messi like genius). I'd rather De Boer than Benitez in many ways, but it's hard to argue that Benitez isn't a very effective manager.

Voted De Boer. Benitez won't happen, it seems he wants to stay in Italy, but that said I would be happy with any of those 3. I know Pochettino hasn't done brilliantly at Southampton, but considering the resources he's done pretty well.

Someone link this thread to a senior person at thfc. Given the board's lack of popularity at the moment, I'd hope they would take fan feelings into account before the next appointment.
