Pretty sure he falls under the category of 'fringe U23 players', however I must admit, he played very well yesterday.

Hate to be a buzzkill, but he didn't really do a lot in that video. Young players that people don't expect anything from are often overestimated based on decent performances. Anyone remember Oduwa in preseason from a couple of years back?

Considering he was never spoken about as a highly rated prospect and will likely never ever claim a spot in the first team - I'm surprised.
He is well liked in the first team and was spoken off as a highly rated prospect. His last season was derailed with injuries tho, but the pre-season with the first team did him good.
He's also becoming too old to be on an apprentice deal and he was on an outgoing one as well. So why not tie him up or risk him leaving on a free?
