Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It’s coming from Romano so it’s at least something. Maybe these are club briefings or Conte briefings designed to defend or attack but clearly there are games being played or it might be true.
Just like Dan KP is Levy's mouthpiece, Romano is Conte's mouthpiece.

If you saw the managers linked to the job, he just mentioned names like Luis Enrique (that's his name right? Bill Madrid Bill Madrid :sonpoint:) and Tuchel. He's clueless regarding this situation and is just going with the other reports.

Roberto De Zerbi, Vincent Kompany, and Michael Carrick. Either of these three has my approval. Go all in on a project like we did with Poch and Woolwich did with Arteta

Decent take here all in all about the rant.

"Calculated"
"Are you really THAT annoyed?"
"Petulant"
"Unprofessional"
"Walking contradiction"
"Lacking fight after the cup exits"
'It would be different if it was a stand for change (i.e. This is what we need and I'm here to do it)'
"If it's not working; then tactically change it..... No flexibility.... No new ideas"
"So political"
"Trying to save himself"

"Whilst there's truth to his comments....... Context is everything"

...........From a neutral.

Who do you think would suit us given the current squad.

I really like DeZerbi and have since Sassuolo, and I think with a bit of squad tinkering, and some patience from the board and fans, he would be someone I would love to see at spurs. He would be the one who would get me excited for the future. Even if he may not be the most compatible for our squad right now, he’d be a better match for our model as a club, he’s not going to demand we spend 80m on fuckers like Bastoni, but will work on developing and improving young players, and is more progressive and aggressive in his approach.

But if the question is “who would suit us right now” I’d probably say someone like Tuchel or Potter, who are both more tactically adaptable than Conte, like to play with 3cb’s and WB’s, so people like Porro/Spence/Udogie won’t be rendered immediately surplus etc. They would probably be continuity type choices, who would hopefully pave the way to a more progressive type of football and a more progressive coach.

Question is, who the fuck would want to even manage us?

We spent months just to end up with Nuno and now we have a highly respected manager who has won multiple trophies in his prime criticising the club.

It feels like a poisoned chalice at this point and I am not sure many would want to work under Levy and a DOF under investigation.

However, money does talk I guess...

Truth is, I don't believe there is a manager in world football who could fix this club with the way it is currently being operated on the football side of things.
I mean, I know we're all a bit down at the min but we're still a bloody good club with some top players offering huge money and competing towards the top of the PL.

literally 99% of managers would walk over glass for the job. A mate of mine in work in the Lisbon office is a Sporting fan, I said I wonder would Aimron come in now with Sporting going so well in the EL he was like "he would swim to the UK for that job in a second!"

I think a lot of what you say is fair counter argument, but this was all still very predictable, and Conte has also made mistakes, outside of his endemic, rigid adherence to a formulaic tactical approach, that in and of itself has become fairly predictable, which when bitching and whining about everyone and everything else, he conveniently forgets to mention.

Things like sending away the only two midfielders who can link defensive and offensive transitions, then constantly playing a (often outnumbered) midfield two who struggle to do this, and are pedestrian in all they do. Constantly playing an attacking three, two of whom have been continually underperforming.

Constant failure to address the lack of energy, aggression and cohesion without the ball. This is really basic stuff.

To watch 343 continually not work optimally with the players he has but steadfastly refuse to try something else.

The underuse of Bissouma, Gil, Sarr, Spence, Danjuma.

This was a predictably stupid appointment IMO. A really poor match of coaching approach and club.
I totally agree it was very predictable and I agree his tactical approach isn't attractive or adaptable, I would however point out that people like Pep don't adapt much either (why do we manage to beat them each year playing a sit and break game that everyone knows is coming?).

I also think he was quite clear (and he explicitly said it) that he was talking not about technical or tactical but about desire and mentality etc. I know it gets over looked cos it's not as tangible as tactics, but we've all seen players half arse it, not have the determination or desire to really win the 50/50s or stop a cross or shot. We did it against Sheffield United 2nd half just as one example. I don't think that's coached, nor is the retreat so you're all standing on top of each other shit we saw Saturday - it's a psychological response to protecting a lead with time running out. We've seen it since time began at this level in teams of every standard.

I agree he has made mistakes and continues to make them, I'd have played Yves with Benta personally and Richy (when fit) over Son but Kulu has lost form and confidence since his injury, Lucas is a human pinball and Danjuma got picked up in poundland.

Ideally we'd play a higher line and a back 4 but our defenders are mostly poor (apart from Romero who has other problems) and I understand his pragmatic defensive style even if I don't like it.

Agree on Yves, Gil I would've kept around but it was only after the Villa game on new years day (when he looked completely lost) that he showed much promise. Spence isn't good enough defensively to play for Conte, Sarr looks decent but raw and Danjuma is another cheap punt.

I agree it was the wrong appointment and I blame Levy for it completely.

Not really. Danjuma and Devine already taken token spaces. Neither would come onto the pitch in a million years, no matter the circumstance of how the game panned out so why put another two ghost players there? It might make the young un feel more hopeful for the future but Conte doesn’t give a damn about let’s be honest
Another reason why he should! Why have a fantastic training complex if any players we develop are going to be discarded by this Dino mk1. His been upgraded from mk2.

Conte claiming the players lack ambition about a month after he came out saying we had no chance against City and Woolwich. Had we won both we would have been close behind them, but Conte was the cunt who said we couldn't win them.
He said the same before and after the caraboa semi finals v chavs last season. In which we put two pathetic performances against fat frank I think.

We only got danj bcos the ficker didn’t want Gil. We could just have easily kept Gil and I’m sure he would have been of more use than danj purely bcos he’d started to play a few more games. Not say danj is good or not but it’s clear fuck house is not gonna pick him. Do patrici and levy not see this blantant flagrant 2 fingers at them from conte? Sane with spence.went out of his way to distance himself from the signing and then never played him. Basically wasting half a season of a precession footballers career purely to satisfy his own ego. How he can look in the mirror and think his a cunt I don’t know. I bet he stands laughing doing the old harry Enfield loadsamoney. Do levy and patrici not discuss these matters with cunte? Surely they must ask how is such and such getting on, has he settled in, etc?
