Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

New Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte will bring a new attitude that will undoubtedly whip the current squad into shape. A glowing reference from one of the game's greats, Andrea Pirlo, emphasises the presence Conte offers in the dressing room.

After winning the Serie A title in all three of his seasons as Juventus manager, Pirlo heaped praise on Conte's impactful personality.

In 2014, the ex-Italian midfielder claimed he needed just one speech to win over the Juventus dressing room ahead of years of success.

He said: "He [Conte] needed only one speech, with many simple words, to conquer both me and Juventus.

"He had fire running through his veins and he moved like a viper. When Conte speaks, his words assault you. They crash through the doors of your mind."

Speaking for the first time since becoming Spurs boss, Conte has opened up on his broken-down talks to join in the summer and why now is the right time.

"Last summer, our union did not happen because the end of my relationship with Inter was still too recent," Conte explained.

We should remember these words by Steve Nicol

But Steve Nicol has told ESPN that he feels Graham Potter of Brighton was the better choice.

The 46-year-old English coach was on the Lilywhites’ radar prior to Nuno, as was Conte, but there wasn’t much speculation about him replacing the Portuguese coach.

And Nicol claims that with Conte’s profile comes a far bigger spotlight – and pressure – on Tottenham than there would’ve been had they gone for the Seagulls boss.

He said: “They surely are better off with a Graham Potter than a Conte. Right now, every single that happens at Spurs is all over the news, all over the paper. Conte’s just going to bring even more spotlight. He won’t have a chance to get things right.”

Actually John, i have criticised Levy and you know that and i didnt want Nuno, but supported him until it became obvious it was over.

But you know John, there are more important things in life than arguing with a snivelling snide like you. My wife had a radical hysterectomy last week, unfortunately she contracted pneumonia, got a blood clot on her lung and for the third time in 12 months got sepsis..... she's been at deaths door and I've had to, as well as work, run a house with 3 kids, dogs, cats and also in my spare time take care of her father who is COPD pathway..... and since I had covid end of August, I've had pneumonia and last week I had the flu. My wife's had 3 years of shit, cancer, chemo, endometriosis, as well as dealing with lupus.

But do you know what John, she's kept going and kept smiling I've kept going, kept a smile on my face, kept loving the things I love in life, kept supporting the team I love through thick and thin and when something like this happened today I've fucking celebrated and I'll admit had a few beers at the pub.... what do you celebrate aside from the odd agree you get to your snidey shit you post.

Spurs has been one of the things that's kept me going ..... through all this shit. I'm still a positive, pro active, driven person John, always will be, I love life, love my family, love Spurs....

I wish you could have what I have John, I'm the lucky one...... I'm glad I'm not a miserable fucker like you. Most people get to a point in life where they realise for them to be happy in themselves they need to delete negative cunts like you from there lives ..... so John, please do me a favour and fuck off you miserable snidey Gooner cunt.

Keep on truckin' fella...... You're clearly doing a grand job! 👍

.....Best wishes to your whole family too.

I'd be surprised to see Skipp or Hojbjerg go anywhere. Hojbjerg's had one of the best attitudes of the current bunch for the last year or so. However well he's played, I think he works hard every time he plays. You can't challenge for trophies without that kind of attitude.
You better go and see what PEH did for that second goal we conceded against united on Saturday. That's dereliction of duty. I don't want to pick out individuals because they were all shit and actually Skipp was mainly at fault for losing the ball. However PEH just quit on it and it was cavani the goal scorer he was marking. He has a persona of being a warrior etc, but there are times where you can see right through that. Worst thing was he came out post match talking about poor commitment.

I get it if you're charging it with your own wind turbine or solar panels, but charging a tesla over the British gas and coal electricity net with the prices that is now seems a bit hypocrite.
This is nothing more than an admission you don't know where the electricity you get comes from.

2% of all of the UK electricity network comes from coal and the only coal power plant is carbon neutral.
Gas is fairly clean comparatively and more abundant but also dwindling in use.
Over 50% of all UK Power now comes from renewable sources and this is only going to increase.

Renewable power is cheaper power. Eventually it will benefit people's pocket as well as the environment.

And before you go off on a rant, lithium batteries can be recycled. You can charge one for 0-80% in about as long as it takes to have a poo at the services and more charging points will appear now than petrol stations..

Yours sincerely

Lot of cunting around but based on our current squad and Conte history, what could we expect as our starting lineup?

I would imagine something among the lines of -

----------Son------------Kane-----------------
-----------------Ndombele--------------------
---------------Skipp------PEH-----------------
Regulion-Rodon-Sanchez-Romero-Royal
--------------------Lloris------------------------

Only real questions seem to be who to pick as 2 other CBs on top of Romero, and if we play 3CBs and line is higher than Sanchez pace could come in handy.
And then who would support our only two able goalscorers, I guess if Conte can work with him it should be Ndombele. Not like we would have many more options.

Alternative could be

------------------Kane-------------------------
-------Son-------------------Moura-----------
---------------Skipp------PEH-----------------
Regulion-Rodon-Sanchez-Romero-Royal
--------------------Lloris------------------------

But I am afraid that it would be harder controlling the game like this as Son and Moura are good with running the ball, but neither can control the tempo and retain possession under pressure...

I’d like a Tesla but they’re too darned expensive at the moment.

CONTE : I'd like a Tesla

PARTICI : Sign with Spurs and we will get you a top of the range Tesla in any colour you want.

CONTE : Deal!

HITCHEN : We've been watching the Nissan Leaf for quite some time. It looks great.

LEVY : Deadline day deal sorted. Scored 3 milk floats for an absolute bargain!

I think that initially we will see the 3-4-3 just because we have a fair amount of wingers. If Conte can figure out which one of our midfielders that gets to play the deep lying playmaker we may get the 3-1-4-2 as well but I do think that he will start with the 3-4-3.
