Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

His reputation is not being shredded though no one thinks Conte is the reason for our problems they pre-date him. We need serious investment especially that our Academy struggles to bring through players.

The problem we have, is there are things that Daniel Levy just refuses to invest in. Have you been to the new stadium. It is a great stadium but it takes so long to get a beer and we have run out of alcohol at big events. This is because Levy does not hire an event company to run it properly so the staff are under trained and there is a high turn over, while he is willing to spend £1bn to build it. The same with scouting we have under spent for years on the network and it has been top heavy. We also have failed with the academy we need to find someone who can run it and run it for the long term.

With the academy, the big issue has been managers (starting with Poch) neither giving them meaningful playing time at Tottenham or loaning them out to get first team experience.

It really is as simple as that.

In terms of UK academies, Spurs are highly rated and most years we COULD have brought one or two players through into the first team.

Whilst Mourhino (doing one thing right) sent Skipp out to Norwich on a highly successful loan, that loan has not been followed up with enough youngsters on loan - although atm both Etete and Parrott look to have gained a lot of experience, although imo next season might be too early the following season might be right for one or both. White should have been on loan this season and probably been right for first team but has been held back by managers 'in case he's needed' but rarely played, so if he's not he will need a Championship loan next season, if Conte gives him minutes this season and in pre-season he might be experienced enough to be a sub next season .

Really? I don't see that at all. Those blaming the manager probably aren't looking at the whole picture but probably just the recent downturn in form. I cant think for a minute anyone is seriously blaming Conte for the shitshow of the last 4/5 years. If they have then they must be pretty wet behind the ears. It is obvious to all and sundry where the real blame lies.

People blaming the players isn't letting ENIC off the hook either btw.

This is routinely pointed out to scott scott but he refuses to take this on-board.

In his terminally blinkered world; unless you blame ENIC for every minuscule thing and declare your undying hatred for them at every juncture then, in his binary little mind you are an "ENIC-fan" rather than a Spurs fan.

Countless time he's mugged himself off by slagging people off despite them typically being strongly critical of the ownership.

Can't deny, despite the comments, I'm sort of expecting myself to be greatly surprised when there's a possible club announcement in the next 24 hours announcing his departure via mutual consent.

Decent post, would argue that the football is exciting, I don't think it is. The other thing to remember is that Liverpool are well ahead of us and I've no doubts with the right appointment Man Ure will be as well.

So is that what we're offering Conte. Do well and you might get 6th?

I think our only option is a project manager, someone who will take the time and slowly build a squad up. A well defined system, and working towards a point 4 or 5 years down the line where we bring it all together. But who is that person?

All I hope is that this doesn't turn into a fucking circus, though judging by the amount of clowns, elephants in the room and a goalkeeper who has returned to being a juggler, PT Barnum could be our next manager.
That kind of manager was realistic before... but we got Conte, which is awesome. I hope he gets backed, 'cos we couldn't do much better than Conte right now. We'll just have to see what happens. If Spurs can pull their finger out and he gets what he needs in the summer, we have a brilliant potential situation right now! Hope it starts to come together... I mean, we beat City... we've had our Spursy losses, but maybe if we can pick it up again, there's still possibilities there for us this season!!! Come on!!! 😀

We actually miss Sissoko he used to actually drive the ball forward and this is from someone who did not rate him.

People keep talking about a DLP/Pirlo type and a new Eriksen, but I still think we miss the press-resistant, water-carrying Dembele-type most.... Ndombele should have been that guy; yet he's a dosser.

One hopes we can finally tick that box in the summer.

I wouldn’t count on that

Enic invincible to some on here
Its like they think they are the club. They are merely the current custodians and if they arent adding any benefit, which they clearly havent for 3 or 4 years, then they should do the decent thing and sell. I fail to see why football club owners should breed any sort of lotalty, particulaly with their track record of 1 trophy in 21 years. If its business as their followers claim then why do they continue to back failure because no other business would accept that.

It's not as straightforward like that though. Only Dele really left. Gil, NDombele, Lo Celso can all come back next season. Knowing Levy, he doesn't like to sell players below his unrealistic valuation of them. If they and few more being forced out at all cost in the summer, it's a lot of money down the drain from Levy's perspective.

So still plenty of conflict of interest right now. Conte is not asking for investment to finish top 4. He's asking an investment to turn this team into title challenger. Title challenging is good for the football club, but for the investing company it may not be as profitable for minimal investment and barely get CL football. That is a lot of money from Levy's perspective.

In this latest post match, Conte kinda admitted that top 4 may not be possible for this season. Which again losing a lot of money from Levy's perspective.

The cheaper option is very tempting for Levy. So we never know for certain which is gonna happen.
Difficult financing a title challenge when you’re competing with state dictatorships. The Russian war in Ukraine might distract the Chavs and see their Russian state money diverted elsewhere.

It's difficult, but for Conte, he sees it as a challenge to conquer. He unlikely asks Levy to outspend everyone. Spend enough to get his transfer targets. You kinda expect master of book cooking, and freebie hoarding in Paratici to pull these kinds of deals off.
