Simple question:
Who else could we have brought in in January to back him further?
And please don’t say Traore or Diaz.

The first thing he asked for was a RWB.

well I will say Traore as it was clear that if Levy hasn’t fucked about over asking price we would have got him early in the window. The guy is now bashing out assists. Everyone knows Conte uses wing backs. His first request was at RWB. Anything would have improved on Royal and Doherty. There has been enough names touted on here. That we are still starting games with the likes of Royal or Doherty, Sanchez, Winks, Davies just shows how far this squad has been neglected.

play a player out of position, tanganga would do a better job in midfield than winks as at least hed offer aggression. kulu would of been better last night as it needed someone who can pick a pass with a bit of quality.

winks isnt the only problem but hes by far the biggest. get that little weasel sorted first then things will be a hell of a lot brighter. i honestly think the morale of the side suffers massively when hes out there because hes so incompetent. his style of play sucks any enthusiasm out of the side, then he might as well not be there when we havent got the ball. its nothing but football suicide having him in midfield. its been so glaring obvious for years that its fukcing painful. conte, if he had done his homework and watched our games before he came would of seen this. theres a clear pattern..winks plays and we stink
Tanganga is terrible. And put him even in different position - even worst. This ain't fifa. Sometimes you can play a player out of his preferred position, as Conte did with Moses and Luiz in Chelsea, and few other case, so this ain't new to him, but most of the time player doesn't have the quality needed to play out of that position.

Again Conte did give chances to pretty much every player, and tried plenty of different squads, also played with different formation as well.

Sorry but this is a typical football forum comment. When things are not going our way, people always find someone to blame, like if he is gone, everything will be alight.

The problem is far worst than Winks. Our whole defense is dog ..... Whole midfielder need to be changed as well, not just Winks.
It's more than 90% of the squad that are just not good enough.

If Conte is playing Winks, he obviously doesn't have a better option.
There is a big difference why we are here, and he is there.

It’s amazing isn’t it. For 4/5 seasons we’ve needed a new midfield yet the club seemingly haven’t been serious about addressing it properly or when we have we have signed badly scouted players. It’s been an utter mess. Sounds like bentancur might be out for a couple of weeks now too which is less than ideal.
True, over the last few seasons the players do change, just not in a good way.

Conte having a meltdown. Says he needs to sit down with the club to assess, and not sure he’s the best suited for the club

What a drama queen
I do get that its a very concerning reaction but to be honest, if I was one of the worlds leading successful managers, I would probably react in the same way. Conte is a winner. He is not used to losing 4 in 5 games and therefore he feels he has failed in doing what he was brought in to do.

Also, I don't believe these are the same words he uses in the dressing room and there is a bit of media play here. you have to remember, he is a very shrewd manager in the way he works. That reaction was a shot at the board more than anything else.

Now I don't believe this squad is anything near good enough to compete for top 4 as we've seen so many times this season. I also do not believe Conte will walk away this season, but if he is not backed in the summer then he will be off. He has already said the squad needs major improvement and he can only take this team so far. If he doesn't get what he needs then I wouldn't blame him for walking. You can bet your life that Man Utd are waiting in the wings for his signature after what's happened in our last 5 games, and he will get exactly what he needs there. We just have to hope he has not completely had enough already.

IF he were to walk away, then I have no clue where we go from there as we would have gone full circle with managers lol lets wait and see how these next few games turn out.

COYS!

Lost 4 games out of 5. Improvement.
Something off when a manager claims one week that we had only lost two games in a row (due to Brighton) and the next is melting down about 4 in 5 defeats.

Defeats happen. Many Tottenham managers have lost at Burnley. In fact quite often this is exactly the type of game we lose regardless of the manager. It’s a big time Charlie mentally thing and has been for years.

That’s the biggest challenge of getting into their heads that you must actually work harder against the lesser teams because the lesser teams by default will always work hard to compensate for their lack of cutting edge.

It is not a huge upset to lose at Burnley. Unlike say what happened in Europe this season which was honestly an utter disgrace on our history.

I’m not sure the reaction is the wisest way to act. Yes we lost. But essentially so what ? Adding games up and saying. Oh it’s four defeats in 5 is very odd when last week he was claiming it was only 2 defeats in 4. At the end of the season our stats are likely to be we lost 1 in three regardless, so what is Conte really getting at ?

Perhaps Conte just knows our midfield is utterly fucked and even Paul Daniels can’t magic a performance out of a team with zero creativity. Bentancer went off and we were back to the dark days of Nuno and that shit awful midfield.

But then Conte probably needs to ask why he didn’t put Dejan into midfield and Bergjwin or Lucas on at half time. Every decision Conte made Wednesday night made the team worse. That’s why we lost as much as anything else.

I very much want Conte to stay, but if he is set on going (and his agents comments seem very clear he is thinking of going) then he must go, however painful that is. If Conte does go he is not showing much regard for us fans is he ? Cryptic messages and emotional immaturity helps how ?

Even the “alleged” messiah Klopp finished out of Europe in his first season. What is it that Conte expects ? I don’t expect top 4 so why does he ? This is all a little odd once we settle on accepting the result.

We all know Levy's faults. I'm ENIC out.
But, you lost to Burnley, Southampton and Wolves. Ypu cannot tell me we don't have better players than them. Something it's in you. And players of course.

You cannot give up first time things don't go your way. I'm sure Conte won't, but he didn't need to say that after Burnely.

Yeah best available players. You cannot play players that are injured or are missing for whatever reason.
Did we use the best possible squad, yeah we did it against City, and Burnley.
Surely part of the reason for our failure on Wednesday was that we treated the opposition in a similar manner to the game against City when what was needed was a different approach. Bergwijn and Moura would have been better creating space for others through their willingness to take players on out wide than Sessegnon or Royal were ever likely to be against Burnley. And that in my opinion is down to Conte. It’s alright people speculating on Conte leaving and Conte himself dropping hints but he needs to take his fair share of blame

I really doubt he is close to walking away at all. He's probably bored as fuck answering equations about his future every press conference though. I wouldn't be surprised if his words after the game were a reaction to it.

I mean, has anyone ever known anything like what Conte has faced since he has come in, at any club?

The media have wanted him out of the club since day one. Probably because they are scared he might actually make us good!

I don’t need to read that long essay. You can call losing 4 out of 5 an improvement if that makes you feel good. For me, I expect more from the manager than beating city. The last two failed managers beat city.

Make of it what you will.

This. Don’t need some twat to tell me this is improvement ffs. Look at the dross being served up and we are calling that better football?

It would be.

Skipp has been very good for the most part but still is a 21 year old in his first season in a top level league. Having him as our best MFer is not good enough.

Neither Bentancur or Skipp get into any of the top 3 clubs MF's. Not sure they get into United's MF and would be in a fight to get into Wolves or WH MF as well.

Our first choice MF 3 of Skipp-Bentancur-PEH/Wanks is definitely in the bottom half of MF's in the PL and nowhere close to the top clubs in the PL.
for me bentancur and skipp is potentially a top4 level midfield. the problem is their back ups which are relegation level

Conte & Levy were never going to get along but Conte knew the team he was inheriting & should have known he was never getting a blank cheque.
I think what he said was a product of his frustration with the players themselves. He is a proven winner & expects a winning attitude from everyone around him.
I was just going to say the same thing.

Obviously he wants, and we need, better players.

He's angry because of the attitude of certain players.
Really up for it vs City and like a wet rag vs Burnley.

Let's face it when he says "it's the same players" he's not talking about their ability. He knows what they are like ability wise. We've all seen it time and time again. Great attitude one game, shite the next.

He was expecting that same attitude from the city game and it wasn't there.

I don't blame him one little bit.
