Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I don’t really understand why Conte was given the job knowing that this is how he sets his teams up. People complained at the brand of football Mourinho got us playing, when he was sacked Levy stated something along the lines of getting us back to playing attacking football that Spurs fans expect. He then duds and is forced to bring Nuno in. Then Conte, whose system is pretty similar to Mourinho’s.

I’d do anything to go back to the type of football we played during Poch’s first few years with us.. It was genuinely enjoyable to watch. Now I’d rather get a prostate exam from Jimmy Savile than watch us play our current brand of wank.

Conte does have a similar approach to Mourinho's Spurs in that they both setup to let the other team have the ball and pounce on their mistakes. However, when the other teams don't make mistakes, we fail to get our best players on the ball.

Against Arse
Kane- 24 touches over 90 minutes
Rich, Son, Peresic - 25 touches over 70 minutes.

Bissouma was on the pitch for 23 minutes. He touched the ball 3 TIMES

Kane and Peresic are out most creative players, they barely touched the ball and managed 14 successful passes each.

So, we're Arse that good they they completely took our creative players out of the game? Or tactically are we not making best use of the talent we have?

Watch how we played in the last few months of last season. We were much more attack minded. Son in particular was playing much further up front. We lit teams up and were so threatening even against the best teams.

Something definitely changed tactically and it’s getting frustrating seeing world class attackers play DM.

At half time against Woolwich, I was quite confident that at least be able to see the game out to a draw. Hugo's fluff up should never have happened; and the red card felt harsh.

I feel that Conte's strategy was to frustrate them and force them to commit more players forward as the game progressed. Maintain a defensive shape; and then switch up the formation for a late attack.

Last season we saw Kane dropping deep and becoming the creator. Maybe his frustration at not getting close to the golden boot last year has meant he wants to play further forward - this leaves us without any creative influence when Deki isn't on the pitch.

I think Kane has tried to drop deep but he’s been shut down. Teams aren’t giving him the space to operate like last season.

So when Kane can’t drop deep anymore, it sort of creates a situation where Kane sort of clogs the middle of the pitch up top meaning less space for our players to run into.

Just watch how hectic everything seems when we try to execute a counter - there are too many bodies just cramped up in the center of the pitch leaving Perisic and Emerson as our only real outlets going forward.

Then go and watch how fluid our attacks were last season when Son and Kulu were playing further forward and had more space to run in to.

Don't rate him at all. I really tried to.

Would happily sack him tomorrow and bring in Gallardo.

You want a project manager so you're gonna have to wait 2-3 years whilst you 'trust the process' meanwhile say good bye to Kane and Son cause they aren't stinking around for that especially some random Gallardo.

Unless you're happy for another rebuild then fair play, but the reason we bought Conte in is to win something so I think you're just gonna have to stomach it until he leaves.

I don't think it's as bad as people are making out, he's winning the vast majority of his matches and we've obviously improved, when we lose everyone goes into meltdown mode for some weird reason.

This response suggests that you have no clue what a project manager is.

How long do you think it will take Gallardo to hit his peak at Spurs, it took Poch 3 seasons, unless you think he's going to come in and get Spurs playing his way in a few months then I think you're slightly deluded.

Your first sentence suggests the first time you'd heard of Gallardo was 2 minutes ago.

It did make me laugh though. So thanks for that.

He turned down Barcelona only last year and Lionel Messi called him one of the best managers in the world you little sausage. Just the 11 major honours as manager. ''Random''.

Conte currently has a contract that runs out at the end of this season which suggests its do something with him this season or nothing. At this rate I'm not seeing a side that will do something.

No, try reading it in context, I said Kane and Son aren't sticking around for a random, he might be fashionable from a hipster perspective and you might stay up to 3am watching a stream and wank over watching his teams play attractive football but he's a relative unknown and until he at least takes over a European side he will forever be an unknown quantity.

Berbatov is bang on the money. Conte’s dinosaur football isn’t sustainable. It’s fine going away to Man City and soaking up pressure and counter attacking. But what about against the so called shit teams? He still insists on 3 at the back. If this was Nuno, you’d all be calling for his head.

But we have no consistent style of attacking play. We just rely on the opposition leaving gaps at the back and being able to exploit that.

Mark my words on this, Conte will be gone by Xmas when Juventus come calling. And then we’re left with his dogs-of-war players and two hundred wing backs.

Conte’s football was fine years ago but the game has changed and he is too stubborn to attempt to control a match. I find our football so depressing, I never look forward to our matches as it’s the same old shit. 3 at the back, negative bollocks.

that's what i always say to people who tell me Conte is worse than nuno ball. We didnt play like this last season, it was quite attacking, quite bold but still defensive solid without the ball. it did just look like we needed a couple of decent signings to progress further.

Have no idea what the hell happened in preseason, it's not Royals fault as i've seen mentioned as Matt was injured against Villa and we continued to play very well mostly with Royal. Bentancur and holjberg are playing at similar levels, Maybe the lack/rotation of Kulu isnt helping the attack.
There could also be a few players keeping their powder dry for the WC unfortunately. Who knows

I guess Nuno killed him and is wearing Conte's face.:contesmile:i said im gonna make you proud

Well we gotta wait to see what he's doing.

The club should be looking at alternatives if he is giving no indication of staying on but there's reports of him looking to extend so we'll see...

Keep digging, Daniel.
