Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

There's only about a dozen premium seats left for the game tomorrow now.
Bet there would have been thousands available if we still had Nono or another wet blanket.

I’ll be interested to see his approach with our CBs, only Romero seems an obviously fit for me. He needs CBs who can play the ball and Dier and Sanchez are really shaky playing out of the back. Tanganga and Rodon tbd. Maybe Davies on the left of the back three?

His name is Conte

Antonio Conte

O bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao, ciao, ciao

I thought that ""I'm not your dad" comment was awful and showed a complete lack of awareness. Dele wasn't asking him to be his dad. It might be the case that someone who hasn't had a great dad about might benefit from a little compassion from someone who presumably did and a little advice here and there where appropriate but even if Jose had decided not to go anywhere near that there was no need to say it and shame Dele for no good purpose.

By all accounts Dele's real dad wasn't really there for him, from what I recall reading, and that wasn't Dele's fault and he's got on with life the best he can and done alright despite not having the best support. The comment from Jose was an unneccesary verbal blow to hit the kid with. Clueless from Jose.

The truth is, as a manager, you have 30 odd kids and men who have different backgrounds and need different things each to get the best out of them. It's up to the managers to adjust to each individual. Really no different from any managerial job in any industry in that regard. Some you may not be able to help and get the best out of even if you try and with experience you might get rid ofthose players, but there is no need to be a cunt about it like Jose was.
What was said in that meeting was bang on about Dele.

bastoni or de vrijj for sure
If we got Bastoni I would pass out. 22 years old, he’s the next Cheillini in my view. I don’t know if it’s feasible, but they have been mentioned, Bastoni and Barella will be world class Balon d’or type players for years to come. Make us title contenders if we got Vlahovic too.

Hopefully we get a good look at Rodon.

The lad can play with the ball at his feet and is clearly aggressive. Just need to work out if he can read the game well.

Sorry to disagree with you (you seem like a top bloke), but I actually thought it was deliberately reverse-psychology. Like that scene in the Simpsons, where Homer (as a stand-in spokes-person) says "Now, I'm not a big-city lawyer..." and the audience whisper to each other "Ohh, big city lawyer!" and clearly take the opposite message because it's distracting and sets the emotional response.

Saying 'I'm not your dad' and then proceeding to talk about how he could nurture Dele's talent was a great bit of man-management and showed knowledge of Dele's daddy-issues. He wanted Dele to look up to him and set a new role model.

Rodon should have a decent shot at impressing. I could see Davies as the left center back when need be. But he'll probably be the rotation/cup option mainly.

Worked out well :deledoubt:

Still think we have something in Tanganga. Right sided CB in back 3 might be the perfect position for him.

Rodon... man he's been through how many managers now? Despite some bright spots, feels like his time is running out.

What feels good with Conte is that we now can't blame the coach anymore. He's in his prime, he's a winner wherever he goes. He's easily among the top 5 managers in the world.

With this in mind, now it's up to the players. We will soon know if we have a team for top four, for winning a cup title. Or if we all along have overestimated the players.

And for the first time since match 3 I'm looking forward to watching sports again.
I think many don’t overestimate the players , the key will be the club shifting them and replacing with upgrades. Obviously not everyone, but probably 4-6 first team players depending on your perspective and a hell of a lot of the back ups.
I think will take up to 3 windows to fully solve , so hope Conte is here after any rebuild

It seems like he would more mobile, quicker CB's in that system. I would agree that Tanganga maybe gets a shot since he can fit that role well, but Sanchez may shine as well instead of Rodon. Hopefully he can get the best out of all of them.
