Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Hes not one of the top 3 managers in the world! Hes a top manager yes but has never won an European Cup as a manager

Stop this nonsense.

Roberto Di Matteo won the Fucking Champions League big deal. The hallmark of a top manager is being able to guide a team to a league title and remain consistent over 9 months, not a cup comp which relies on a element of luck to win.

5 league titles in 10 years, the only other manager showing that sort of consistency is Pep and Pep has largely remained employed in top jobs at big clubs.

If he isn't top 3 tell me who is?

He obviously threw the match, no need for any science here, you don't drop your captain in a cup Semi when you're trying to win, just sends out the wrong message. His comments last week when he praised Chelsea and said that they're on a different level to us kind of confirmed this cup isn't a priorty to him.

Maybe he's prioritising for the NLD.

Keywords here are “needs be”.

Look at the fucking squad he has at his disposal right now.

Oh he shouldn’t have played Gollini over Lloris today?

Right, maybe we wouldn’t have conceded a goal (lol), and then we would still have lost 2-0 on agg., as we couldn’t score a fucking goal regardless!

Cut the crap, man.

Anyone who thinks that just a tiny bit of this shitshow is on Conte’s shoulders is in need of more oxygen to the brain.
All former managers like Poch, Mourinho and Nuno had the same players and were rightly criticised when things went wrong? What makes Conte different????

Throw the match? Of course not; but for sure you can bet his ONLY target is to get us back into the top 4. Anything else is a bonus.

As an FYI he won't be winning league titles here.👍

Conte if he came to you is because he believes in the project. Otherwise he would have stayed at Inter or would have gone elsewhere. Conte does not go to a team to be satisfied
Who else was in for him though.

There were no big jobs going. He either took Spurs or hoped Man Ure would come in for him. All the other big teams had managers.

Also, the big teams like to do well in Europe which probably ruled Conte out of a lot of jobs.

If Conte came to the Spurs it means he has a winning idea. Surely he is not a "corporate" coach: when he wants an effort from his club he openly declares it to the press to "goad", move the waters. If he did not believe in the project, he would stand still for a lap.

Surely one of the journos has to pose him this question about what the thinking was behind Doherty as LWB as hes is not even very good on his strong side.

There’s nobody else to play there?

Sessegnon is coming back from injury and is weak and Regullion is also injured. It’s shit having to play him there but unless we Chuck a youth player in then there’s no other option. (I don’t want to put Gil there and ruin him as it’s not his position and unfair on him to play him there).

Well who else was hunting him down?

Maybe he is someone who enjoys being in football, there are many like it.

or maybe he was bullshitted by Levy and the Italian dud Parawanki.

Already we've gone from talk of De Ligt, Vlahovic and De Vrij coming in January down to Traore and a pre-contract move for a Man Ure outcast. Parawanki's signings so far have been worful, massively unsuited to the EPL.

Conte's words

"I talked to the club and I told him what I think about the situation of the team - said the Spurs manager -. The only thing I can do is get the best out of my players to improve the team. I had an interview with Paratici and Levy, now it's up to them to decide what is best to do on the transfer market. I can only offer all my work to the club but the decisions are up to the club, not me. The last word is always up to the club. "
Well that's that then....
Haaland and M'Bappe incoming!!
Maybe we can ask Chelsea about Kante while we're at it!

Reckon we can sign all 3 in time for the NLD?

He has to drag us to a win on Sunday. I’ll be in the minority but I think beating the scum was more important than winning yesterday in the grand scheme of things (and I’m not usually a person who triumphs coming fourth over a trophy) as for us, getting back into the CL next season is huge.

If you are a brilliant business manager you have the best stadium and training ground in the world, one of the best managers in the world then the final piece is the team. 4th place is there for the taking with 3 or 4 signings NOW not in the summer. What’s Champions League football worth to the club? Speculate to accumulate. Everything in life is a risk.

Very strange mentality.

Nah, it will be the summer. If he doesn’t get who he wants over this window and the next in total then he’ll be pissed off and cause problems and if that happens we should all be on Conte’s side.
It's like living under the sword of Damocles

We can all be on his side, but the fact is we'll be facing up to another fucking void.

Who actually believed we were getting those 3 in January though apart from 12 year old twitter kids?
