The Chav defeats were the beginning of the end, he looked completely embarassed by them understandibly. It's a matter of when not if he walks IMO. The next three games we've got Leeds and Boro away then Everton at home. We should win all three of them on paper but honestly it wouldn't surprise me if we lost them all.

Lose either of the next two and he'll not be around for Everton game. I would be shocked if he's manager at end of season and amazed if he is at beginning of next. Time for a long overdue change at the top, we all know it won't happen.
I think we'll get a draw at Leeds...or somehow manage to win it, but won't be pretty. Boro knocks us out of the FA Cup, probably on pens. Then a bore draw at home to Everton...or friggin Lampard finds something special and they beat us. Conte to go after 1, 2 or 3...matter of when, not if. And that's a fucking crying shame, cause give him a proper team built around Kane, and we'd be challenging.

Sure there'll be protests, letters sent from the Supporters' Trust to the board etc etc, but Levy & his pals will just ride the storm. And it'll eventually pass because, very much like a large part of our squad, lots of Spurs fans have no backbone and they'll keep paying their ST, buy the new shirt and other merch...

Ive just posted those quotes in the last couple of pages .
Sorry, pal...usually really like your posts, but if you're talking about the quotes from which you assumed Conte meant he'd been lied to, that wouldn't stand in court. And even if that's what Antonio had said openly, so what...you're just gonna take his word for it? Thought there was always two sides to a story...

Let's be clear, I absolutely hate Levy and I sure wouldn't put it past the bald villain to lie to a manager, even a top one like AC, to get him to sign...but as of now, there's zero evidence that happened.

I don't think Conte was ever going to be a great fit. In fact, I can't think of a worse fit than Conte and Spurs right now. This was all so very predictable:

I agree it is a bad fit if Levy is unwilling to change his ways which have shown to be a failure and bad way to run the club.

However, if Levy was willing to run the club like a successful club with ambition I think Conte was a great fit for us to that going forward.

This guy has bitched and whined about players at every club he's been at - and has left bigger and better clubs and situations than us/this because of his demands to be given the toys to be the best, and we have an owner and business model that is very incompatible with that. I’m not saying he’s always wrong or he’s not a good coach, but if you’re leaving league dominating teams like Juve, Chelsea and Inter because they can’t meet your demands, then the marriage with spurs was always likely to be rocky, no?

I think appointing Conte was "ambitious" but was a massive mistake by Levy/Paratici, it might have given the fans an instant lift but it also raised expectations unrealistically and was always going to bite them on arse very hard.

That bitching and moaning should have been a positive to show Levy how wrong he has been, what he needs to do to change and not just lie down to Levy's crap.

I think Poch, even though he tried, was unable to show Levy the problems at the club. Even though he outright said what needed to be done Levy refused to listen.

Jose was happy to have a job at our club so was willing to say anything to Levy to get and then keep the job.

We need Conte pointing out how shit the players are so that Levy can. hopefully, finally realize all the players he overrates aren't close to good enough. Unfortunately it appears that Levy will not listen even to a manager of Conte's pedigree.

This is why people have to understand why building the stadium was so important and smart. Unless we get bought by an oil state (and having great infrastructure makes that more likely not less IMO), it is the only way we are going to stand a chance of at least keeping our heads on par with the Woolwich's and Liverpool's and above the Leicester's, Wolves etc.

Obviously the caveat is, we still have to use the money wisely (smarter than we have been for the last few years for sure). But the stadium, and it's ability to generate huge revenue for the club, is absolutely vital - at least until (big fucking if) we are bought by an arabic sovereign wealth fund.

But we have yet to complete a full "normal" season in this stadium, it's not going to change everything overnight.

Hard to imagine anything is going to change even with a "normal" season. If Levy is already pissing off Conte and having two crap windows in a row why would you think we are likely to spend money wisely going forward.

Yes the stadium could be a valuable asset for us going forward, but if we still operate like Levy has been doing for years it won't matter much other than to keep us from dropping below Wolves and Leicester but not likely to significantly step above them and certainly not keep up with Liverpool.

Being somewhere between 3rd and 8th is the reality for all of us bar City right now. An exceptional set of circumstances (some of them external and outside our control) might buck that above or below some years. But that's hardly a catastrophic place to be. Doesn't mean we shouldn't strive to be the best version p[ossible and it's fair to criticises overt mistakes by everyone from Levy, coach and players etc - that's all part of the fun, no?

If we are 3rd to 8th playing good (doesn't even have to be great football) bringing in quality players is great. Being 3rd to 8th playing god awful football because we lack so much quality and show that we have zero ambition to bring in quality players is a pretty shit situation. Obviously better than being in relegation battles but I think our ambition should be much higher than that.

He literally said we are buying players that are young prospects that can be developed and not ready players and 'that is the issue'. But NOW he realises what the vision of the club is. If he wasnt lied to, he was definitely not told complete truths

Dele brace, written in the fucking stars that is...

Conte to PSG.

Poch to Real.

Carlo to Spurs.

Wouldn't be surprised if that actually happened...
I think if AC goes, it's going to be virtually impossible to find a good manager. Our reputation, well, Levy's anyway....is just shit. No one experienced or ambitious is going to want the job. Especially if our best player goes. With Ronaldo making noises and Utd showing interest, it looks very dodgy for his future here. These are despairing times....

Conte & Levy were never going to get along but Conte knew the team he was inheriting & should have known he was never getting a blank cheque.
I think what he said was a product of his frustration with the players themselves. He is a proven winner & expects a winning attitude from everyone around him.
