Hope richo can live up to the £6 valuation but I think there are plants of attacking players who could be just as effective but cost a lot less. He bought in to provide additional goals but so far in the PL it’s 0. We need more than the occasional tussle and being caught offside.
What’s he building is the question? More if the sane but with more expensive players. Or his he gonna turn us into citeh style team. I think we need to play aggressive progressive football, get the ball into the oppo half quick and put balls in for harry to get on the end of. When did harry last score from a ball played across the 6 yard box. I don’t mean corners.

He’s an elite manager bought in to win things, let’s see what he can do this season, lots of twists and turns yet to come. But whilst Conte does still have my support (I’m sure he’ll be beside himself) there are still some questions to be answered.
We did strengthen the squad this summer and Conte got his much hyped pre season; so why are we not playing as well as the end of last season? I wasn’t expecting us at be the finished article but I did expect improvements in things like basic passing, which 8 weeks in seems to be getting worse. Then there’s the slow starts or the inability to sustain good play for more than 20 minutes. Genuinely confused by this as the team still seem on board with him. Is it a 4D chess thing, where he’s saving us for end of season?
A lot of the backlash now is around heightened expectations and disappointment. I think most of us were just so excited for the start of season. The results have improved and it’s important to remember that. However it sticks in my throat to see so many other teams with a poorer attack than ours, still attempt to play more creative, attacking football. And it really hurts when that team is Woolwich.
To end on a positive, it’s really refreshing to get excited about our set pieces again (yes, I know that’s the other guy, and no I’m not including Harry’s free kicks).

Sure, we can spend another 5 years bickering about trf net spends, but to absolve him of all responsibility is ridiculously blinkered.

In any case we just lost to the goons with mostly a white flag display. Against sporting don’t think we even tried to win the game. We played for a ficking draw and they were shite. So what's the difference between these 2 scenarios? It seems you are suggesting we need new players irrespective of managerial circumstance. Additionally, some (like Harry) would be better in a more proactive/possession team and presumably any new manager would be more tactically flexible to accommodate different players...could hardly be more tactically rigid!!!!
He got 18 months for a reason. If he doesn't show something of significance in that time then IMO a natural separation seems reasonable considering the football is melting my eyes.
He is doing what Poch did with Wimmer. What Mourinho did with Rodon. It’s not spite. He doesn’t think these players are currently better than the other options. Most of the time this proves true.
Fans do not see these players every day in training. If Spence can’t implement Conte’s tactical instructions, doesn’t show the right attitude, is not in top condition, whatever else, he is not going to play.
Conte already spelled this out earlier this season. He said Perisic, Lenglet and Richarlison understood his football very quickly and showed the right character. They started games quickly. For whatever reason Bissouma and Spence need more time to adapt.
If Emerson plays every game it’s because the manager thinks he is the best option to translate his ideas onto the pitch. That’s a depressing thought but it’s on Doherty and Spence to change the manager’s mind. Like Poch always used to say, the players are paid to train, not to play. No competent manager would select a player who is clearly worse in training than his rivals. Not for an important match.

dont think Sarr or Brian are good enough to get much minutes over Richie or even an out of form son, and definitely not holjberg, bentancur, skipp or bissouma in Sarr's case
Spence i'd like to see like most people but If conte say's he isn't ready just got to believe him. Maybe he starts and he is absolutely terrible in our current defensive counter setup

I don't even know if there is a right thread for this, but I just want to say that I think the level of posting in here has improved a lot in the last few months. Sure there are still a ton of cunt-offs, but certainly there's been a lot more engaging and respectful conversation about Spurs here. It's really nice to be able to talk about the club somewhere like this online.
