Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Terrible clickbait. This quote is from months ago when Di Marzio expressed his opinion. Now it's just recycled quotes.

Conte will leave, but these aggregators are abusing with their following.

Until our fans start to starve them of clicks and re-tweets these cunt aggregators will just keep doing it.

None of them have any filter they're just interested in driving traffic as things ramp up for the weekend's games.

A little bit of certainty from the club/manager would help though. There wouldn’t be constant rumours if the year extension on his contract was triggered, or a new contract was signed

I'm talking more broadly than any one issue... If it's not this matter; it'll just be something else.... It's the nature of the beast.

If these accounts that masquerade as being fans and/or Spurs-friendly operations refuse to filter themselves then it will have to fall to us fans to be that filter.

Conte made him win a Golden Boot last season.

Sonny has had the touch of a donkey this season, that's not on Conte.
If you honestly think we're playing the same system and tactics this season as last then I doubt you've been watching us. Last season we got the ball forward a lot quicker and Son was mainly running in behind. This season we're very slow to build possession and Son is being asked to come back into midfield in an inside left position to get the ball to feet. And he is not very good at that.

And we're paying high wages for a manager that won't change what isn't working.

I think Son was doing the same last season. He just a hot streak of goals which covered up the bad form

Woah there, steady. Do not blaspheme against 4 at the back. Poch would never insult the holy formation.
Ha.

If you look at our line up that night when we beat Conte's Chelsea, it shows a 3421 which is pretty much what we're playing now but the player quality is so much higher than now.

Hugo, Dier and Kane played, Son was an injury time sub, but we also had, pretty much in their prime:

Toby
Jan
Rose
Walker
Dembele
Wanyama
Dele
Eriksen

Would any of our existing squad make that team? It's doubtful.

As always, the truth is neither black or white, it's somewhere in between. Conte isn't Spurs through and through and no one is wanting him to be that, but he also doesn't want the sack like some people here believe that to be the case. He just was struck by a series of unfortunate events this season, starting from the least important ones like Bissouma getting Covid in Korea and missing the entire pre-season all the way to the harshest ones like the tragic passing of 3 of his best friends.

He needs to go back to Italy. I have the feeling that it's nothing against Spurs for him, not even against the board, it's just that he's had such a miserable year that he needs to go back to his family whatever the cost.
I can relate to this, because 3 years ago I had to leave France to come close to my family and friends because my mental health was declining, and I hadn't gone through nearly as much as Conte has.

I think he's missing the larger point though. He said:

— De Zerbi is seen as a young progressive, exciting coach.
— Conte as a stubborn, defensive, rigid coach who might be over it.

The curious thing with this is that former clearly has been inspired by some of the letters philosophies and patterns of play.

Of course it all comes down to execution and results, but the "stubborn" and "rigid" characteristics are due to Conte's unwillingness or inability to do something different despite it not working. If a coach is seemingly unable to adapt to a changing environment then they are ultimately going to be classified as having been left behind.

The fact that the person in that thread had to mostly clips of old Conte team performances says it all.

The thread is him showing one pattern of play they both happened to use.

What happens when teams don’t press and just let us have the ball?
