Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Maybe the new manager we want to get in either doesn't want to take over the team mid season or are currently still in a job.

Then they likely will be next season also if they are at a club, so unless they are in the hunt for silverware (doubtful any manager we are after is)

And I can't see a reason an unemployed manager wouldn't wanna take over sooner more time to work with the team and they can try ensure next season they are a CL manager

Different times. But Keith Burkinshaw said he was leaving and a depleted team/squad went on to win a European trophy in his final game. The excuse of “oh Conte might be gone, I can’t concentrate” ( or whatever it is today ) just don’t work for me.

Because they'd likely want a clean slate.

.......and in our equivalent post CL ffinal trf window we spent circa 130m quid.

Your last post isn't comparing like for like scenarios.
If you're implying that our spend in the subsequent transfer window was the equivalent of us trying to get over the line like Liverpool, I'm just going to have to disagree with you mate. Like i said we spent zero pounds and zero pence the entire year before.

It's the equivalent of not brushing your teeth for an entire year and then claiming a bunch of much needed root canals is responsible hygiene maintenance.

Must be up there for top-tier Babe material too :mourglasses:

Managers are also typically inclined to not want to leave a club mid-season as it doesn't reflect well on them and their sense of commitment....

I mean it's almost the end of the season so unless like I said, the manager we want is in the hunt for something and want to get it at the club they are at cant see much of a reason we shouldn't try get em.

And like I said if the main target is Poch we should defo be getting him not appointing mason.

Just screams panic from the board and no plan, and that's how we ended up with Nuno last time..

You said Liverpool spent big on 2 key areas (GK & CB) when they lost the CL final..... (Summer 18)

When we Lost the CL final we did the same having spent 100m to rebuild our MF (and made a ocuple of other moves)..... (Summer 19)

Basic like for like comparison......

Yeh, you're not following this at all well...... Or understanding the false equivalence of the comparison you originally made.

It's the equivalent of not brushing your teeth for an entire year and then claiming a bunch of much needed root canals is responsible hygiene maintenance.

Yeh.... Not following it all are you.

Sigh... The only one panicking here is you.

Using Mason as a caretake would suggest the opposite of panic.

It doesn't work like that.

? Why though

Jose replaced Poch mid season, Conte replaced Nuno both out of work at the time admittedly. But again so is our main target according to the press.

Again unless our main target is at a club and already communicated to us he's not willing to leave, for whatever the reason. Appointing Mason only to appoint Poch just seems stupid

And if it is someone in a job I don't know who it could possibly be

Let Conte play out the string. He knows who specifically he was referring to. Let him sit those players and make the best effort with the ones who want to win. Why not keep him? Because it would hurt the feelings of some players? Maybe that is what is needed.

Yes because a sure fire sign of a board that isn't in total melt down about the situation would be to fire the manager in charge. Obviously not have a replacement for proven problematic manager who's basically been wanting out since January lined up and hire a man who's only experience in management was taking over the last time we did this at a very similar point in the season for the same reason.

Oh and looking at history the last time this played out said board who obviously have everything under control, took ages to find a replacement and the one they chose was Nuno who they sacked for current manager we are in the process of sacking

Obviously no panic in the board at the club

Conte and Jose came in in November where they both had a transfer window, new guy comes in now and wont have that and will be working with players who would likely go in the Summer, it's pointless.

I don't think you understand the word "panic"...... (And are struggling with the purpose of a caretaker).

Conte still hasn't been sacked..... If we were panicking he'd have got the boot on Saturday night.

Spare yourself the interim stress of melting and just see who the FT replacement is.

I don't see the logic mate we are in the hunt for CL still. Surely it's better to have the man we think (hopefully) is the long term plan for the club in charge rather then someone with little management experience.

Also gives said manager 1/3 of a season almost to judge the squad decide who he wants to get rid off in the summer window and what positions they want to reinforce.

If we have a plan (and that's a big if at this bloody club) it's genuinely bloody pointless to not get the man we want next season now

How are you not understanding that it's most likely not on us to get a manager in, it's on them to decide on whether they want to take the job now.

An interim is someone who takes charge for a game or two whilst paper work is sorted, not someone who basically gets 1/3 of season. We will basically be writing this season off if we plan to keep Mason in.

And disagree a club who had a plan in place would have sacked him on the spot and have the new man in already, who would then have 2 weeks to work with some of squad and set a plan in place.

And discussing the news that most main sport news outlets are reporting as what we are gonna do it hardly melting. But ok

Ok and again why other then the incredibly unlikely scenario that the manager we want Is a European elite one currently at a club in the hunt for something. Why wouldn't they come here?

I'm yet to hear a good argument as to why (if as reported) sacking Conte, and letting Mason run the team for 11 games. Is a good idea

Reason why is it's not and if the club do this it's another sign the board really are clueless and dont give a single shit
