Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

There are no immediate game-changers gaining splinters, but there is a growing list of players that ought to be further on in their Spurs development....

Gil
Sarr
Rich
Bissouma
Spence
Danjuma

Hell, I even think Rodon could have been a more viable CB than Dav, Tanganga & Lenglet if we'd have handled him better.
Rodon was given years to impress multiple different managers. Time to admit he's just shit.

........In all fairness, debut aside; I didn't see him do a lot wrong in a Spurs shirt.

More than any other position (except maybe GK), CBs need a run and some stability around them; something he was never afforded here; despite the low bar set by the alternatives.

I'm not suggesting we wasted a Ledley, but he has the traits of a steady, meat & potatoes CB; something that none of Dav, Tanganga & Lenglet do.

You can include Skipp in this list as well, who is only getting minutes now because of Benta’s injury.

The lack of rotation (and to a lesser extent in-game substitutions) by Conte is one of the most damning things under his tenure.

No, we may not have world class players on the bench, but we have a lot of players who could have played very useful minutes over the course of the season, and who also needed those minutes for their own individual development.

Also, the lack of rotation leads to our first XI players being overworked. Is it any wonder we can’t press effectively for long stretches when Kane, Son, Højbjerg have played nearly every possible minute this season?

We brought in a lot of signings to strengthen the SQUAD and Conte refused to use the SQUAD.

No fan of Conte's histrionics but...

You lose a 2 goal lead to the bottom side you should not be content.

It's how you make that point and whether you look at yourself in the mirror which I am critical of.

Levy will be hoping the Man United sale will take everyones eyes off Spurs problems so he can spin it out with Conte for a bit longer before the pay off.

ENIC and Levy are so two bob it is unbelievable.

We got Nuno because Levy thought he could get away with it on the cheap.

Conte did him a favour coming to Spurs under those circumstances, having turned us down, and now having lost his fitness coach, his gallbladder and some of his mates, Levy would rather let the man get tasered and sectioned, after his Everton press conference, than do the right thing and compensate the man who got him Champions League football with this bunch of dead beats.

All to save a few lousy quid.

The board could all pool our assets and then split the winnings with everyone but SoCalSpurs SoCalSpurs - why him? He was slightly discourteous to me over in the American Politics Thread.
Because you sullied the name of baseball. You've moved to my unofficial "watch list" after that comment. Congrats on joining your fellow Confederate from Virginia on that list.

I admit I came at you extremely too strong and apologize for that. You can still keep me out of the winnings pot, I'm ok with that.

He needs to be dropping players if he has a problem with their attitude/commitment- the fact he's stuck with the same XI would suggest it's bollocks
It is his had 16 months to see this and there have plenty of unacceptable performances not just Saturday. No idea why Saturday was special for him. All seemed premeditated as he knew international break and he was going back to Italy any and wouldn’t see players for over a week. As PEH has come out with his told him to name players. To me that sounds like his not said to the players like this previously about selfish abd so on.
It’s just another bs exscuse from a hypocrite who we’ll say anything to deflect from him. Like I’ve said should have been after first NLD first half then, toon gane at home, even Leeds game at home then defo after villa game. Our record is terrible for a suppposed top 4 club.

Neither does Levy.

:llorishowudoin:

Seriously though, why do you lot still give a shit?

Poch or no Poch, whomever we bring in will fail and be sacked within 2-3 years.

We need new owners more than we need a new manager.

It's that fucking simple.
The problem with Poch, Jose and Conte was that they got great results, looked like they would achieve things, but ultimately when they left we were in a desperate run of form.

That's why it's so hard to pin the blame on anyone other than the manager.

How did a team, in Poch's case finish 2nd and make the CL final fade in a few months? How did Jose get a team to the top of the league 20 games in, then fall away thereafter and Conte's team who finish a season on an up and start the next well, then fall away again.

How does a team hit a high and then fall away so quick?

I'm not sure that's true - didn't we (allegedly of course) offer the job to every man and his dog, including many probably much more expensive than Nuno, before giving it to him? The fact that no one else wanted the job is surely a greater indictment on the board than the 'cheapness' of hiring Nuno...
I'm assuming that the financial offer to Conte had significantly improved, from the one he rejected before Levy hired Nuno, hence the accusation of Levy being a 'cheap' two bob hypocrite who makes himself the best paid chairman, charging the highest ticket prices in the league, but doesn't apply that logic to many of his first team players' salaries.

If the same thing keeps happening with different managers isn't it likely a culture problem within the team itself? Not trying to be argumentative, it just seems like Spurs a horse that can't be ridden.
