Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Conte is the past - fcuk him. No legacy left and nothing much to thank him for.

No more energy expended.

Hail Stellini or at least hope he holds it together.

A big chance for him but he should not be in the mix for the substantive role.

From an outsiders pov, if you've had a ton of respected managers unable to get enough from the conveyor belt of talent you've had in your squads, I'd say it's an issue with the people who're making the decisions above the Managers?

Sure you can have a honking manager who seemed promising before he took the job, but you've had born winners who've got a bulging trophy cabinet that haven't delivered. Despite having Harry Kane, et al.

This is on the owners/board, in my admittedly not-as-well-informed-as-you-lot opinion.

Thank god he’s gone.

The last 18 months have been very confusing on TFC. Everytime someone has raged about “the useless bald c*** “ at Spurs I’ve been in a state of confusion whether people meant Levy or Conte.

These references should at least be clear in the future.

Lucky us that we have continuity and a degree of stability then.

Have the FA had the same people picking the England team for 57 years?

In nearly every estimation our club has had some of the best talent in the last 20 years, mostly bought by Levy.

He is not blameless but neither can most with any degree of impartiality see him as not having tried to get the managerial appointments right.

Unlees agendas are in play in which case...
Massive lol@the best talent tbh.

Looks like the problem was only with Conte. Staff stays, and players have a lot of respect for them appearently, especially for Stellini.
However, this reflects terribly on the players. We should completely get rid of this mentality when the players can sack the manager if they feel like it. It happened with Poch, it happened with Jose and now with Conte. I hate them, but Scum down the road got rid of their senior figures if Legoman didn't want them and now they're reaping the rewards for listening to their manager.

Chelsea players hated him too, it happens - in fact any set of players who grow tired of their managers act like this, they throw their toys out the pram and down tools, modern football for you.

Doesn't take much for modern day players to act like brats especially at a club where they are fully indulged

Chelsea is the last club we should base our policy on. Even their fans hated the players for how they downed tools for Conte and Jose (seems familiar?), and their players were crowned champions the season before, unlike the likes of Dier and co. who haven't even won a spelling competition.

If Nagelsmann, Poch or whoever might be, comes and wants a player out of the door, you send that player packing, and if he freezes them out of the squad, you don't question his decisions.

I'm not basing a policy, I'm making a point about how players down tools with managers they don't like- Conte is the common denominator, Leicester players didn't like Claude Puel, Villa players - Gerrard, Woolwich players Emery etc...

I don't know what rock you've been living under. Levy has never given any manager the freedom of buying what he wants. Look at the players Conté has previously bought. He would never buy a Striker with Richarlison's build. He has history of strong, tall , Kane and Lukaku type strikers. He didn't want Spence. He might have wanted Bassouma but can't use him as he'd like because he has to protect our CBs. We've killed another manager's career record. Bring on the next one. I'm hoping it's Negalsman so people like yourself can be proven wrong.

The fuck you talking about? Richy is a big strong lad.......

This is the strangest sacking I've seen

Everything coming out just doesn't reflect well on Conte.
Maybe he's just not up to it on a personal level any more after the year he has had? Yes I get that he earns £15 million a year, but he is still Human, he has had a shocking year personally so maybe he just wanted to be back home with his family, and left everyone else here to try and help the club to get top 4?

The Chelsea players had a mutiny over Conte. Literally went directly to the board because he was so unpleasant.

This happens everywhere he goes, which is why he usually can only last a year. We are no different. If anything we have had him longer than his average tenure. The guy is clearly an insufferable egomaniac. At his next club, it will be the same, although he will probably win something on the way.

Inter players were fine with him actually, maybe he is just happier in Italy
