They need to either loan him out somewhere where he's going to play regularly in midfield or stop playing him anywhere we need a body whenever.
Tbh don't disagree with you.. watching him early season I thought he needs to be loaned out .. but Think there's 2 factors to loaning him out 1/ money .. rightly or wrongly 30 mil players DONT get loaned out 2/ he'd need to go to a low end prem club and tbh not sure he'd get much game time there.. and tbh loaning him to a championship club would sort of be regressive.

I mean for the moment we really need him, a loan is out of the question. Maybe that changes by late January.

He's not a CB, and it stinks that he's getting forced to play there, but he is playing, and an 18 year old getting this kind of experience at this level will do him a world of good.

I certainly think he desperately needs to be played in midfield for his own well being. It can't be easy playing as a centre back of right back/wing back at a higher level than he's played previously. The lad is talented but bringing the ball out of defence last night on two occasions and losing it left us horribly exposed.

I find it odd that Ange doesn't trust other players who play in those positions

He was playing RB at Leeds for 90% of last season - he last mainly played as DM in Leeds youth sides a couple of seasons ago !

He is a natural midfielder and a class act at that for his age, he needs to play more at the position he is best at for the benefit of his own career/future in the game.

I'd rather he end up a world class midfielder than an average right back...and as comfortable as he looks there (/anywhere because he is a fantastic footballer), he is never a centre half.

At aged 18 the experience he is getting playing is hugely more than the vast majority of players get at his age and will stand him in good stead in the future.

And by the way, that was the same stance that the Leeds manager took last season, so that's another professionals advice.

Incidentally Dejan Kulusevski gave an interview about 6 months after joining Spurs saying that whilst he was happy enough playing at RW, Spurs would only see the best of him when playing more centrally. He was 21 or 22 at that time, so as you might now understand playing players outside what they think is their best position, especially at a younger age, is not unusual.

And please express your concern to Harry Kane - he joined Ridgewell Rovers as a goalkeeper and only started playing striker due to injuries and coach asked him to try playing up front. If that coach had listened to you, nobody would have seen one of the best strikers in the world.

Looked significantly more comfortable playing CB, particularly on the right, than he has at any point at LB or RB.

Obviously would love for him to get a chance in his preferred position but right now we’ve got no other choice and the kid played well.

Theo Walcott always said he was a centre forward, unfortunately none of his managers agreed.

Massive massive talent.

When he eventually moves into the #6 role, his understanding of the CB and FB position will make him an absolute savant for defensive positioning.

Combine that with his press-resistance and passing range and you have the complete #6. Spurs fans probably aren’t realising what a result it was signing him.

He's good but it wouldn't be like you to go OTT mate. Calm down, talking like he's a young Busquets.

What was Busquets doing at 18?

You never know how a young player will work out but id be shocked if Gray doesn’t end up England’s starting #6 one day.

People are acting like we are fucking him up by giving him minutes at FB/CB. I’m pretty sure Rice was still a CB at 18. If he was playing this level at all.
