Are we clinical enough?

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

This is a difficult subject. For me the most frustrating times are when you start to think that Spurs will never score in a match when the ball is played around without any shot coming in. Yes we have missed a few sitters recently but I feel better when these chances are coming up.
Not sure what qualifies as a chance. Wanyama has fired the ball well into the crowd and openly admitted other players told him not to shoot but he ignored that and scored that screamer against Liverpool. Other players in our team would have passed sideways or back and maybe a chance would not even have been created.
Wanyama will probably never score another goal like that. What should he do when in a similar situation
1 shoot as before hoping to repeat it which will register as a chance and not clinical
2 take a bit off the shot and try and control it but this gives the GK a better chance of saving it
3 pass and hope to create a better chance but that may not happen, this would not be counted as not being clinical.
I am not sure there is any real answer to that question and it depends on the player, his confidence and state of the game. More likely to shoot later in the game than at the beginning.
To be more clinical do the players have to take a little off the shot to be more accurate or does this risk the GK saving it.
No easy answer to the question but better chances are being created than no chance at all.

Although we do miss a lot of chances, and have been lower in the conversion of S o G to goals we always create lots of chances since Pochettino sorted us..
We are third with S o G at the moment 325.
17 behind Liverpool and 57 City, but 9th in conversion table with 16%
Last season we had the most S o G with 489
next best City 452
but 7th in conversion table with rate of 16%
15/16 most SoG with 456
next best City 422
but 11th in table with CR of 15%

I would be more concerned with not making them and of course conceding more than we convert.
We have young players. Is easy to forget that.
Kane and Dele can improve.
Eriksen coming into his prime.
Son improving hitting prime years.

When Kane and Dele improve that conversion rate will improve and there is every chance we will be phenomenal

Don’t be childish. Other people have different opinions to yourself. You’re coming over like a spoilt brat. Are you young and American? It’s just that I noticed you use American spellings.
I am whatever you want to think I am, whatever makes it easier for you to reinforce your own notion of reality and truth. That's how it works. One thing is for certain though, I am in the wrong here; entitled, full of shit, spoilt brat, american child, negative agenda, etc; and you are most definitely in the right, and the more proper fan, because you are defending the club against my deliberate attacks. Never forget that, you are a hero.

You’re full on weird if this is how you cope with someone disagreeing with statements like “we’re pretty much operating at max capacity with this squad”. How can you possibly know? It’s just your opinion and me disagreeing with it doesn’t make me a heroic defender of the club. You seem very insecure.

Kane (top right of the chart, red dot), has among the highest expected goals and highest total goals. So when the team's main goalscorer is in a position to score he does it. Maybe the numbers are different against "big opposition" but in general I don't think it's a serious problem.
