Another story of Spurs (apparently) wanting a player who prefers to remain at his club...

Spurs, Gunners looking at Sabitzer (The Boy Hotspur)

As the rumors swirl that Bayern Munich would still consider selling Marcel Sabitzer, Woolwich FC and Tottenham Hotspur could be preparing to make a move for the Austrian:

Sabitzer’s case is an odd one. He is a very good player, but had a very “meh” season at Bayern Munich. Seemingly unable to adjust to being a back-up while still in his prime, Sabitzer scuffled badly. The Austrian is still a great player, but might need a change of scenery to start showing it again.

The problem? Well, rumors swirled back when Bayern Munich initially acquired Sabitzer that he wanted to stay in Germany and it was important to his family to remain in the country.

Fabrizio Romano gives latest on the future of Lyon star amid links to Spurs, Newcastle

A couple of days ago, a report surfaced that Tottenham Hotspur was tracking Olympique Lyonnais Lucas Paqueta. The Brazilian has found life in France after struggling to find his footing with AC Milan. As a result, there is plenty of interest from some clubs looking to bolster their attack.

In his column for Caught Offside, transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano provided the latest regarding the Brazilian’s future with Lyon, considering this past January he was linked to Newcastle United.

Romano states that Lyon wants to be careful with this decision of selling Paqueta, considering AC Milan would earn 15-percent from a future sale.

“There are no advanced negotiations for Lucas Paqueta so far. There are still no offers up that meet Lyon’s demands for the player,” Romano said in his column. “Newcastle were already interested in January, but we have to wait for further progress.”

“I believe that Paqueta’s future can be decided in the coming weeks – but it’s not an easy case, because his former club AC Milan are entitled to 15% on the future sale of the Brazilian and Lyon do not want to make a mistake with Paqueta.”

The journalist adds that Newcastle could revisit this interest and present an offer that could tempt the French club to sell. However, he also preaches that The Magpies could face competition for the Brazil international.

“Certainly Newcastle have the finances to make a tempting proposal, and they are sure to be a project that will appeal to many top players this summer,” Roman wrote.

“We also know Lyon have let their best players go in the past, so Paqueta could be one to watch, but I expect Newcastle will face competition for a deal.”

Paqueta featured in 44 appearances, where he scored 11 goals and recorded seven assists with Lyon.
