Last night he did put in some cracking balls,scored a good goal and was generally a lot tidier. When he went through i had no doubts he’d score.
Is this not down to the level of opposition because I don’t see that tidyness,playing one twos and firing crosses in and picking out players. Last night he sprinted away from their left back and put one on a plate for Richy. I never see him doing that against premier league full backs.

Against AFCB first season he did just that, but yeah, they were chasing the game. That's where he's very strong. He's ideal to bring on when we're ahead and the oppo are needing to get goals back. Which didnt happen enough last season because we lost a lot of leads, some big ones too
he did that plenty in his first season here..... Brennan doesn't take people on; it is not his game - but when played in behind, he will sprint past the fullback and put in a good ball...
Him and Richy linked up like 4 times in this way in 23/24 for goals

He could do it more but it’s confirmation bias to say he’s never done it against PL opponents, because he has.
The problem is the times he backed out of it or played a safe pass back instead of trying. Those times stand out more in the memory

I was there mate, I literally sat in front of him in the first half and he was largely anonymous.
You've mentioned him in 3 actions in a 90 min match big whoop lol you picking out a few isolated moments is missing the point anyway - where was he for the rest of the match and in other phases of the game?
Should have had a hat trick of assists yesterday if it wasn’t for Tel failing to make contact with the ball.

If the only times he is involved, 4 times in this instance, led to us either scoring or should have faaacking scored if Tel could tell his arse from his elbow then I’m okay with that.
The game is about goals, players who can score and assist them consistently are worth their weight in gold
Not really - I'd prefer a player who can do both personally.
And I'm sure we all prefer Kudus instead of Brennan, Kudus wont' get anywhere near the amount of goals tha Brennan scores but he's a net positive in the way we play and gets through more work than Brennan does hence why he's first choice.
Why can’t he do that now. I think outwith last night he’s not done that at all this season in his starts or sub appearances. Finishing chances I have zero worries about him but everything else to his game screams he can never start for us.
His finish last night looks easy but he finishes it well. His goal against Burnley when he took a quick touch and finished with the outside of his foot and his finish against city was typical Brennan which we expect and should expect from any player at this level.
He’ll always be topic of conversation because when he doesn’t score he’s so bad but when he does there’s very little to go with it but goals are the most important thing in the game.
We are aiming low if we just accept nothing else but a few goals. We need so much more to progress.

I don't have an agenda against BJ, just an honest opinion formulated from watching him live, and not through what MOTD edited highlights show. His overall team contribution against PL sides is usually weak, and despite his goals he does not warrant a starting place imo. Bournemouth pretty much disregarded him due to his lack of attacking threat, and lumped on Kudus instead.
Could he even be classed as an impact sub?

I don't agree that when he doesn't score, he is so bad - sometimes that's true but not always.
I am not even saying he should start every week - but he absolutely has a particular set of skills that not many actually possess in the modern game, and he absolutely has a role to play for us.
What did he do v Bmouth when they were all over us? Didn’t see him pull any trees and try to make a diff. Yes he scored yday a goal on the counter with lots of space after being found by a nice pass from Berg. But can he change the course of a game like kudus seems to? If he’s not scoring can he influence a game and make things happen when needed. No! Same v Brighton when he came on he is wank. Never holds the ball never mi d looking up to make a pass. Would you rely on him to get you back in a tight game with some game changing moment. He needs someone else to provide for him but cannot do the same in return.
Talking in these absolutes takes away from an otherwise fair point.
Sure he has not looked like it lately - but he has done this for us on more than one occasion - see vid above that i posted form his first season here.
Getting an equaliser v Bmouth or winner v brighton would prove his value or even some actual football ability to make something happen for someone else. How about putting in a decent cross every know and then.
We need both. Kudus can start games but if we’re trailing late on he should be off and Brennan on as he is vastly more likely to score.
Players who can do both tend to be absolutely elite and we can’t afford that, so we have to use Brennan and Kudus wisely.
He is caught offside a lot when we have lost the bal.
