Maybe the issue has become pronounced under the harder training regiment at Spurs Vs Lyon, thus turning the condition from very mild to a higher level, which makes him now struggle to train freely, impacting his ability to come into match days with any semblance of fitness and freedom of movement.

If he trained hard to impress Poch, and this skeletal misalignment (anomaly) meant his bones ground against themselves, or such, creating some heightened local inflammation, this could plausibly create an exacerbation of this condition.

He 100% looked lighter on his feet in the Lyon footage I watched.

Speculative, but I'm pretty sure there's something like this going on with him.

It's not the type of thing that a standard physical would pick up on, as it would only show after intensive exercise, if I'm correct.

Osteitis pubis symptoms
  • Osteitis pubis symptoms involve pain in the groin or pelvic area when running, doing sit-ups or squatting exercises.
  • Pain may develop gradually and often be mistaken for a muscle strain or groin strain.
  • In severe cases, the athlete may begin to walk with a waddling gait.
  • An X-ray may show an irregular pubic symphysis which is the joint between the two pubic bones at the front of the pelvis. There may be signs of bone thickening and inflammation.
So, as I speculated above, his last injury was Groin, which could be Osteitis Pubis, this may manifest in Waddling Gait and Inflammation.

Look at the posture in the below video at 1min 20 onwards: NDombele's belly...

This set is worth watching:

Yesterday was the day when Jose started imposing himself on the team. He has been soft since November but now that has changed and we entered a new phase, the real Jose management style which has won him tons of trophies.

Any reason he waited until we were out of all but one of them before enacting his masterplan?

Lamela's fitness obviously need taking care of.

Meanwhile, Aurier was blatanlty deployed as a winger so your point about defenders is moot.
But surely a more natural midfielder would have been better than Aurier? Gedson has done well when coming on remember soton cup replay.

Sorry to harp on about this, but this NDombele situation, is physiology based IMO.

There is no way he is purposefully ambling around. He is protecting his body.

He should be pulled from the squad and assessed to the nth degree. As I've said a few times, I'm sure its waddling gait, which means he is probably suffering hip pain or the like, get him assessed. My instinct says he is embarrassed about having the condition and isn't confessing he feels it (or knows he has something stopping him being able to do more than slow jogs after 10-15minutes playing).

It explains how he has these unique turns and changes of direction, the distinctive walk/waddle run, the appearance of a belly which I suspect is Gait driven more than excessive weight.

He needs a very specialised training regime, to strengthen the supporting muscles, which are weakened. Then another go next season.

Ledley had a condition which meant he could hardly train (crudely the same, if you look at it from the situation causing a fluid build on a joint crucial to playing), if that's what NDombele needs, pull him from any intensity training and get him a base/core fitness plan first, then work out from there.

Think this is more than lack of effort or will. It's my belief we have bought a special needs player for £60M but never checked into his physiology enough to discover it, so are now attacking him (crudely) for being undiagnosed special (football) needs...

Just my inane thoughts.
It’s a sports hernia he picked up in November that he’s playing through, more likely.

CM Gedson on the wing vs Aurier; who has essentially been playing as a winger ever since Jose arrived?

Nothing to see here.

Suspect that would be picked up easier, known about and Jose wouldn't be digging him out about it.

Think it's Osteitis Pubis, as it aligns more to his physiology and waddling posture, movement changes etc.

We crudely agree (if you saw my later posts on OP), as they are overlapping conditions:

If it's either though, why is Jose digging him out and not his medical team!

We've had multiple players play through the injury recently (Winks, Eriksen, Davies) so nothing would surprise me.

Do they have Costco in England?
It’s a legendary store in Canada and US and their return policy is well, legendary.
If we’d bought NDombele there we could easily return him and get a full refund even after 9-months, reason for the return, unfit for purpose!

Do you honestly think that the club’s medical team know less than people on here?

Of course... :)

It's not about knowing more or less, it's about how could they know, if he's not telling, type deal.

It spawns from his obvious underlying injury (to my eyes), because I cannot believe someone can be so of the pace after this long and continue to get picked.

When on SpursCommunity I predicted injuries to players multiple times, a few posters on here probably recall it, I used to get pelters about my stuff until saying "Kane is looking all wrong, he's gonna get injured badly" and the next game he did, I've got a bit of an eye for stuff, won't go into why.

I’ve got a bit of a dicky ankle. Would you mind having a look at it. 🙂

Playing with a back 5 is not a problem if you have 2 WB's. We have done it before but Tanganga and Vertonghen are not WB's and so it did not work. Without a striker we need to pack midfield and you do that easier with a back 4.

Was a great away day.
Laughed at the local getting more and more frustrated trying to pay parking by Tesco’s. He had a handful of old pound coins that are no longer legal tender.

Taking the pisss out of Pope and one Burnley supporter getting the hump with us. Turns out he had no teeth... que taking the piss out of him. Great lads around us was jokes

Hairy’s Post Match Thoughts

1. Another sub par performance. That being said, we are definitely a “oh shit, we’re behind, let’s turn up the intensity“ type team, proving the skill is there.

2. This team, as a whole, has poor foot skill. Basic trapping and passing has evaporated. Not sure why we insist on flicks and lobs to move the ball down the pitch. On the ground to someone’s feet for God’s sake. Dele is particularly guilty here.

3. LoCelso continues to impress. Totally different team when he came in.

4. Lumping it forward to Lucas is a waste of time.

5. Remember when Toby was nearly flawless?

6. Lamela was a bundle of energy yesterday, not sure why he was subbed off.

7. Dire was a beast, best match I’ve seen in a couple season.

8. Serge continues to disappoint. If he could just cross and attack the box occasionally, he’d be a serviceable wing back.

9. Dreading trip to Deutschland
5. Remember when Toby was nearly flawless? Long before he signed a new contract.
