Doesn't Ronaldo have some unsettled sexual assault issues from a few years back?
I am pretty certain that if he enters the states he has to go to Nevada to be investigated/prosecuted. Attorney dropped the case because there is not enough evidence yet. But if Ronnie ends up in America they can bring him in for questioning and re-open it.

Don't understand why City want Ronaldo. He's 36, wants £500k a week and Juve want £25m for a player who maybe has a couple of years football left in him.

They already have a good enough squad to achieve everything they want to do this season. The one good thing I can say for City is that they've generally been smart with the money they've spent and don't spend megabucks on a player just for the sake of it. Their team is built from carefully chosen players and good management but signing Ronaldo is neither of those things.

The money would be better spent on signing Haaland before the £75m release clause kicks in and there are a ton of other clubs vying for his signature. I'm sure if they offered Dortmund £200m now they would take it.

The great managers always know when to break the bank on a player that makes the whole team click and Haaland is one hell of a player.

Brand-building. He's one of the 2 most famous footballers in the world. It all helps the Sheikh sportswash his country's sins from the global recognition they should be getting.

This is a club that not long ago had Shaun Goater as one of it's icons so adding a bit of megastar gloss to their image is always welcome.
