Also unless they deleted it Woolwich never posted a thank you goodbye post for him when the contract ended
They knew and someone tipped them off.

The timing of everything is so poor.

Why wait so long to charge him.

Why wait till the season finished and he was able to compete in all games he was available for before charging him.

Why wait till he was out of contract with Woolwich before charging him.

Why did Woolwich suddenly completely cease trying to get him to extend his contract unless they were given prior warning.

Why was there no 'Thanks for everything' tweet/video when he left.

The whole thing has been disgracefully handled by all sides. It may be innocent till proven guilty, but I doubt anyone else would get their charges delayed until the least disruptive possible moment.

Add to that the whole football family knew, a CL semi finalist out of contract and no offers??

Nobody tipped them off, they simply lucked out because Partey was greedy. But the long term damage is undisputable.

He's been a crocked for large portions of his Woolwich career and they should have quietly been trying to flog him off instead they let him sit out half a season at a time and instead of trying to nudge him out they let him run down his contract AND THEN TRIED TO RENEW??????

Its remarkable, 3 years and then 96 hours after his contract expires charges. That could be a coincidence but it’s so extraordinary it warrants a full independent investigation. It’s like a politician buying stocks just before they sky rocket, could be coincidence but very unlikely. Whether it’s political connections or simply gooner fans in the police and prosecution this smells fishier than Trump’s cryptocurrency.

Life is Anecdotal, we all are formed around what we see. In my life I have seen dodgy shit working for companies and normally the most dodgy people are the ones at the top. I have a friend who used to work in the civil service close to government and told me how corrupt some of the politicans, judges and senior police are.

Generally the corrupt are more likely to be at the top. It’s the risky behaviour that got them to the top in the first place and it’s the risky behaviour that makes them more likely to take chances. Everything with this case around the timing is a red flag for corruption. Timing like this is rarely a coincidence.

Nonsense.... They considered him a key player.

The only possible defence of the police is they realised now his contract ended he's going to leave the country, and that made them act now.

Good article, here’s another.

This tells its own story:

Never before has an athlete featured in so many consequential fixtures and for such a prolonged period of time while under live police investigation.
These newspapers need to be very careful what they publish, or his lawyers could get him off the charges, adding insult to injury for the victims.
