I love the way these Gooner apologists always say it isn't Arteta's fault. Yet in the summer they were claiming he won the Window and was the 2nd coming of Christ. He is what he is a very inexperienced manager completely out of his depth

They are becoming like a cult with Arteta - the red card just gives further excuses and they can pretend everything is fine

They very much need an experienced manager who's successfully undertaken a root and branch reform at a club and won some proper trophies

Let's say Arteta had learnt all that there is from Pep, the big different is Pep is fortunate and picky with his choice of clubs. Always be at club with good players, and the finance to boost. For his style to work, he need his teams to be at least as strong as their main rivals. As soon as their main rivals over , his philosophy loses its magic.

Doing it at Woolwich? Dream on

I think their plan was that ‘arteta has worked under pep so will play football the pep way’

What they actually got is a bargain basement Mourinho with about one twentieth of his personality

They are the most turgid team in the league right now and that includes Burnley and West Brom

OK joking aside now.

They really are in deep shit now. They're in a crap position in the league, but even that is way better than they could be. They've been very lucky with the pts they got v Spam, Sheff Utd, MUFC and Leeds yesterday. Their performances have been very little better than on the fringe of relegation fight.

imo one decent performance resulting in a win - newly promoted Fulham first game of the season.

If it hasn't improved by the Jan window then surely even that useless board will pull the plug. The best manager with current PL experience who they could poach I reckon is Hassenhüttl at Saints. I'm hoping that it's such a shambles at Goons that no one decent wants to risk it.

I think they'll struggle to attract a top manager when they eventually sack Arteta because a lot of coaches will be turned off by the structure of the club and ongoing vacuum that was created when the all powerful Wenger left. Every attempt they've made to fill it has failed and just left them in an even bigger mess.

Emotionally They’ve bet everything they have on Arteta at the Casino - former captain under Wenger, studied under Guardiola...

... They’ve completely blanked out that he spent a lot of his career under Alex McLeish and David Moyes.

I think what you’re seeing is a rookie manager whose very good plan A has been figured out (draw opposition Press onto their right side before launching a quick switch for a left overload for Aubameyang/Saka/Tierney). It’s got the the FA cup but now he needs a plan be and is struggling. The squad isn’t great but the shouldn’t be starving for chances like this. He’s looking like a Santini/AVB lovechild right now.

As for Pepe, he reminds me of certain guys who I grew up playing in the cages with. The guys who weren’t even the best there but played as if god had spoken to them and given them the ability of R9, Zidane Dinho Okocha etc.

That's the weirdest part. It's not like we've not had examples in the past like Sir Alex Ferguson - Carlos Querioz or Carlo Ancelotti - Paul Clement having completely different ideologies from one another despite one working under the other for a lot of time. I still can't say that Arteta is a bad manager despite taking the piss out of his misery simply because Woolwich are a shit-show, and no manager in the world, not even José/Klopp/Wenger can fix that mess of a football club, but Arteta didn't do any good to his career taking that suicidal job.

They are not doing well right now, but the NLD would be a good opportunity to beat us as underdogs. We need to stay cool and break them.
We'll fucking tonk them. They're due a humiliation from us considering how many times they've escaped with "just" a narrow loss these past years.

The only worry I have is they’ll play not to lose, and we do struggle against that style

an early goal and I think we can absolutely destroy them
City coped different than United for instance. United were broken, they were lucky we only scored 6. City, to be fair, kept trying and lost the faith the last 10 mins of the game, but they are quite sterile going forward atm. I hope we could do a United to them..
