They’d of been better off keeping Emery. He wasn’t even doing that badly. I have never thought Arteta would do well. It’s a massive jump from being a coach to a manager in the hardest league in Europe. He hadn’t even managed any of Man City’s youth teams. It amuses me and even more so because I saw it happening while Woolwich fans thought Mourinho would be a disaster.

One thing almost all successful managers have in common is charisma. Arteta's completely lacking it. He's got an awful droney voice and comes across as a cold fish. He may have great ideas but if you can't communicate with and motivate players, they mean nothing.

Another thing to consider with Arteta, is he's one of these new breeds of 20min as an assistant, now here are the keys to a large PL club. Madness. For ref, years before getting to a top club:

Allegri (7):
2003–2004Aglianese
2004–2005SPAL
2005Grosseto
2006Grosseto
2007–2008Sassuolo
2008–2010Cagliari
2010–2014Milan
2014–2019Juventus

SAF (12):
1974East Stirlingshire
1974–1978St Mirren
1978–1986Aberdeen
1985–1986Scotland
1986–2013Manchester United

Klopp (7):
2001–2008Mainz 05
2008–2015Borussia Dortmund
2015–Liverpool

Even Jose had to wait 19 years before he got to a big club:
2000Benfica
2001–2002União de Leiria
2002–2004Porto
2004–2007Chelsea
2008–2010Inter Milan
2010–2013Real Madrid
2013–2015Chelsea
2016–2018Manchester United
2019–Tottenham Hotspur

Steven Gerrard is doing it right, hopefully he'll be at Rangers for a couple more years then maybe a stint at a CL contender like Atletico or Lazio, something like that.
