Leicester Tigers Rugby fans are OK though, used to go there in the 2000's to watch Wasps play there. Used to have a good time there drinking with them. Totally different from their scummy mouthy football fans. Even the Tigers fans didn't like them.
Is there another sport like football, where opposition fans need to be segregated? Can't really think of another. Most other sports seem very civilised in comparison. I've been to Aussie rules, baseball in Toronto and even in MLS games the behaviour of crowds are fairly easy going.
The agro and argie turn many away from football unfortunately

True but it also can at times create an intensity/atmosphere unlike any other in the World hence the additive nature.

Football fans become tribal. No other sport does it as far as I’m concerned

And that's a part of what makes it so special. For most of us as well it can be a healthy release. You can spend 90 minutes being ultra tribal and let it all out after a week at work or whatever else has been griding you down all week, almost therapeutic.
Then walk back down the High Road to Seven Sisters alongside opposition fans.

Sadly some people don't seem to be able to separate the 90 minutes inside a stadium to real life, see those morons who attacked a restaurant in Nottingham yesterday.

Absolutely… I love it. A totally irrational messed up few hours

Watching and being part of people losing their shit through despair or euphoria is something only a match day with the team you love can elicit
