Rangnick is like Bielsa. His ideas have inspired other great managers, and he clearly has an excellent grasp of the theory side of things. But a a coach himself his record is not extraordinary, so his biggest achievement is inspiring others to make it at the top level. And in all honesty Bielsa comes across as the more inspiring, motivational manager, even if he doesn’t have much silverware.

As a DoF directing policy Rangnick could be a success. As a manager though he looks like someone who has ideas but isn’t implementing them well. He’s also very stubbornly set on a 4-2-2-2 system which doesn’t suit their players at all on paper, which is bizarre.

So let's say Poch' arrives at Trafford Park Stadium ( that's what Don King called it ).

The players will down tools after a couple of games & they will be back at square one.

The place is rotten from top to bottom.

Board have turned it into a brand, players are the brand, Ronaldo and Cavani are finished, Pogba is a model and Fernandes has had a temper tantrum. None of them are suitable for a modern, hard working pressing system where the team is more important than the individual.

Their individual quality will still get results but little more than that. They need to sell 10 players and buy and developed youth, will take them years. They would be better playing the below team and putting work ethic and pace at number one.

De Gea
Verane Jones Bailey
Lingaard De Beek Fred Shaw
Sancho Greenwood Rashford

Gab Marcotti said on Radio 5, about four years ago, that the top players' agents have too much say in the day to day decisions at Manchester United.

If that's true, then the place must be in a hell of a mess.

It is good to look outside your own difficulties by observing others in more serious problems.

I look to United who are a great source of encouragement when Spurs play as bad as they did against Chelsea.
