Can't see them getting it for nothing, they'll have to at least pay to build build a athletics home somewhere

Then they'll have to spend 100s of millions redeveloping the shit bowl and they simply don't have the fanbase to fill a stadium that size at market rate ticket prices to generate enough revenue to make it worthwhile
True.
Maybe they think some super rich sheik will bite their hand off, once they own the god awful place.

Wont matter with the 90 odd year lease to the athletics people still in place. The dildo bros wanted to get the stadium, knock it down then build a new one. But because of that lease the building has to stay for that period. Unless of course Uk athletics negotiate a payment to end the lease. But why would they do that with nowhere else to go.
New stadium being built in Birmingham

50k for commonwealth games

The building won't last 99 years, I give it 15 more before major renovation.

The London tax payers, its why I don't think anyone will buy it.

Such a clusterfuck of a situation, build a stadium for a niche sport that needs a stadium that big for a month and refuse to build it with football in mind then decide to spend 300 million trying to make an athletics stadium more like a football stadium nd then desperately trying to sell athletic tickets on groupon once or twice a year maybe the odd non profitable tournament, charge a football team 2 million a year even though that figure doesn't even cover the security and maintenance costs of the football team being there!

Pretty much sums it up :)

Yep. Once it wasn't future proofed for football (thanks coe) it needed to stick to the original plan and not retrofitted for football or our plan of knocking it down and starting again (not with us in it).

The way it is now is shocking and westham seem to have an airtight contract putting any new costs onto the London tax payers.

Doesn't matter if there is still a lease in place for an athletics track at the site. That's not how it works. Buildings get renovated all the time, a stadium is no different. The only way they can get them out is pay off the lease and are west ham likely to do that? No.

Guess who's company at the time had the rights to redevelop Crystal Palace sports arena?

The answer is in your quote. Now I wonder why he wasn't keen on our plans.

Their contract isn't with the stadium operators but with the parent company (essentially City of London) and westham have what appear to be legally binding agreement on what they can insist the stadium must have.... I've read UK athletics have a less binding contract (with the stadium opporator) and are easier tennents to shift.

6 of last season's top 7 to open the season...

:dierno:

They will be bottom after 8 games and the process begins.

End the season on a relative high - talk about top 6 or even top 4 in pre season - believe the lies about the stadium being converted - then the season begins - go straight in the bottom three - the club is dead - Gold Sullivan and Brady are cunts - the ground is shit - they are finished with football.

Rinse and repeat.

EVERY run of games for them is considered a nightmare run, whatever group of matches you choose to look at. The secret to it isn't that they're incredibly unlucky with fixture lists, it's that they're absolutely fucking dogshit, and every game can be viewed as an uphill struggle...

They are drifting the club along until its been at the Brady Bowel for 10 years. Then they can sell up without giving up a % to the Govt
