A vaccine won't be available until next year, there is an assumption that the virus will be stopped or slowed down when summer comes. But coronavirus cases in Philippines, Singapore and Australia would suggest that is not the case. Perhaps there will no Summer transfer window or football next season also.
Sadly I make you right, without a vaccine the virus will just go round and around, the only reason we don't quarantine for flu is that we have a vaccine ... as one part of the world slows another will be taking off ... the Chinese are saying they are 'close' to a working vaccine so are a Canadian and a US lab ... if you allow six months to get it approved and produced (normally 18 months) that might just work for next year's UK flu season ... but will we be good to go in August, how?

If the season is cancelled not sure how they could justify giving Liverpool the title without relegating the teams in the relegation zone as it would not be a completed finish and teams in the Championship promotion places would rightly say one rule for one another for everyone else.

you either cancel completely or suspend and finish later in the year which would damage next season.

What about suspend it till March 2021 and take it from there as it is? :freund: :walkercry:

Playing football in most of Spain in July and well into August isn't an option due to the heat so I don't know how it would work here or affect the European competitions

Wonder what the implications will be when everyone cancels their Sky subscriptions?

Have the year on year price increases finally met their match? Will we see a more reasonable (and therefore sustainable) model in the future?

Funnily enough that is on the agenda for UEFA under possible options ... the German federation believe that until an effective vaccine is available there will be no resumption, so a year is certainly not unreasonable. The only issue would be around player contracts ... guess you could still have a transfer window ... be like a second mid season January window so the same for everyone.

From a reliable source.

FA of 3 European countries has submitted formal request to ABANDON the current European competitions and rule them as null and void. Seems the most likely outcome since countries are developing at different rates. Many players have requested to leave the clubs and return to their families.

Obviously, money is the big play here. SKY TV in the UK (this is no joke) have already contacted a number of clubs to gain interest in holding an E-Sports (Fifa) competition in the meantime to keep supporters occupied and give them something to get behind from home.
The latter is true the infrastructure for E-Football is already in place

Most sensible decision is to postpone indefinitely and have date at which, If the situation hasn’t been resolved, the season (all decisions) is cancelled and we restart next season in the same manner we started this one. That’s the fairest. Feel bad for Leeds and the likes. But what can you do.
Also all premier league teams, beneficiaries of such huge amounts of money would set up a fun to help teams in the lower decisions.

I’m not sure suspending would work. This pandemic is only going to get worse in the next few months. Abandoning the season would be the only thing that is really fair on most

yeah it’s awful for Leeds and West Brom but people’s safety is the most important thing

Klopp not happy with what all this might mean
