They can do a double season, the 1967 war started in June but since late April they stopped playing football and people were still at duty in October. The solution was to combine season 66/67 and 67/68 season into one mega season.

Fairest way to decide the Europe is to grant those who made it to the last 16 of the CL or EL a place in next season's relative competitions, because they both qualified in the last completed season and showed they were good enough to make it to the last 16 in the abandoned one. And allow one other club who looked clearly well placed to qualify a place. That seems to work fairly for all the major leagues.

So Liverpool, City, Chelsea, Us and Leicester qualify for the CL

And United, Wolves and Sheffield United go to the EL.

Best solution I've seen I think. More fair than other alternatives. Just scrap the tournaments for a year to make room for more available dates if this virus drags on for a few months
