Player Cristian Romero

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I don’t need to watch games when I can read the opinions of people on here. Tells me all I need to know.

When we look like winning the league again I will support the team 100% though.
Not going to waste my time or money in the meantime.

Let the Aussies have their time in the sun.
LOL...this is a crazy take! Lol it's almost JD Vance levels of transactional. I totally respect it but won't take on board your insights knowing it from here on out. Lol 😆 🤣 😆 🤣

The hatred for one of our own players is weird. You all need to go outside and touch some grass. Get behind the team rather then hating and laughing at our own player for making a mistake on international duty.
This crap again. The only one projecting inadequacies is you. He won't shag you. Your love of him expressed on line won't do a damn thing. This is magical thinking people need to get past it. Folk can laugh call him names burn his shirt it means zero. The universe does not work this way. Thoughts and prayers dude. Been so effective.

And all I am saying is that if you act like total clown, you don't deserve serious club.
I don't think highly of any player who isn't making a full effort, but my guess is that there will be a whole host of serious clubs competing for the services of a player like him.

And it's a shame really, because the partnership of Romero and VDV is as good as we would ever be likely to have at the back. These are arguably the only two places we may have had settled with players who are good enough to anchor a team that could win the league.

But it now becomes unsettled due to staff incompetence. Being an unserious club with an unserious manager and an unserious back room staff, we mismanage injuries pervasively and we can't retain players who want to be fit and play the games.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

Fuck Romero. Cunt doesn't want to play for us. Fine, stick him with the under 18s until the end of the season. It's about the badge on the front, not the name on the back.

Lamela, Romero, Lo Celso, Foyth, Veliz- have we had many others recently?

Thinking back on more robust and stoic older Argentinian players like Heinze I don't think there is a problem with them generally, but certainly it feels like the current crop have collectively felt this era is a "moment" for their national team, and have prioritized it above everything else.

In Argentina, the national team is life. Every player.

This is why they have 3 WCs, have played so many finals, won bunch of Copa Americas. They give it their all on the pitch for their country.

They put their NT above money.

No issue with it. Wish England players had half that attitude.

I think Romero and Lo Celso have both raised some eyebrows in the past though with it going a bit too far.

Wonder how much Levy noticing that the Scouse losing TAA on a free.

The Athletic reporting that Madrid have been grooming/unsettling TAA for two years - like the scumbags Real are. Also reporting that Madrid told Trent last summer that Real weren’t interested in paying a significant transfer fee and only wanted him for free or a cut rate fee - like they offered the Scouse in the winter window after Carvajal went down.

We need to sell Romero this summer … otherwise, given his obvious lack of loyalty, the guy will run down his contract.

Romero drives me mad , he practically kicked the ball in his own net in the 4-1 victory over Brazil . He was doing the same shit that he does when playing for us - tapping the ball about as if to say "come and get it" then he loses it to a sharp striker on the prowl . I'll be glad when he's gone , Guehi would be a far better player for us , and Real Madrid want Romero , so get it done at let's put an end to this soap opera .

Not really do they, Romero's getting his money and putting his nation first...

When he agrees to take a paycut in order to turn out for Argentina then you can make that statement. I'll not hold my breath.

Didn't he also have a moan that the club weren't putting on a private jet to ferry him back and forth to them?

On another note, I also seem to recall him being quite vociferous in his support of Ange. For me that negates any right for him to moan about the state of the club, he's backing the biggest clown involved!

Let's see what sh!t this bloke brings in the next 2 games. Money on at least 2 gifts to the opposition.

Or maybe Postecoglou will rest the precious flower so that the bloke is ready for his next international commitment.

One only hopes Romero performs to whatever that best level is so that we can maximise the fee we get for him in the summer.

Both manager and player will be gone before the start of next season - little doubt.

Cant say I blame him for wanting to move on. We’re an absolute mess of a club with zero direction under Levy. Like with every genuine world class talent we’ve ever had, if you stay at this club you’re basically sending your career to the graveyard until your best days are behind you and you wont win a single thing. And even then if you do eventually leave after years of loyal service (and even go abroad to respect the fans) the fans will still call you a cunt for leaving (Kane)

Fact is, every half decent player that leaves this club goes on to win trophies elsewhere. At 26, Romero has to decide whether he wants to go through the best part of his career with a new manager ever other season, floating around mid table with Levy promising ambition and spending and then doing the exact opposite.

Dont blame Romero. He’s a world cup winner. Blame the lack of ambition and direction under Levy. Romero holds all the cards unfortunately. He’s probably worth around 70M. Wont get that though. We cant afford to leave him with 1 year on his contract next summer.
