Player Cristian Romero

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Who cares, he's leaving anyway...it's not like dropping him will do us any favours or teach him a lesson, guy couldn't care less.

yeah it would help us in the PL games he doesn't care about. Danso starts vs Forest and we probably get a point at least.

At this point it's obvious that the guy is only motivated for the EL matches so play him in the EL and Danso in the league.

You definitely hold that over his head and threaten him with not playing a final if we got there.

After that interview and his performance against Forest, I'd be fine starting Danso over him for PL or EL, final included. He can fuck himself.

Yet another player who will be missed after he leaves, he has some awful games, but playing under this clown in a back 4 where the full backs are absent 90% of the time cannot be desirable.

Predict he will state at some stage that the club/Levy did not match his ambition and he wouldn't be wrong there.
Problem with having such good youth like Gray and Bergvail is the likes of Romero or Vdv will be tempted away before it all comes to fruition, ala Modric , Berba and Bale, only Kane stuck around longer than most and Levy still failed him.

Now there’s a wild concept, actually acting like a big club. Maybe, just maybe, instead of moaning about ambitious players wanting more, we could match that ambition ourselves. Get in top-tier coaching, invest properly in depth, and stop treating Champions League qualification like it’s a miracle rather than a minimum expectation.

Crazy idea: create an environment where players like Romero see a future, not a stepping stone. But nah, easier to bash them for wanting to win stuff while we coast in mediocrity and romanticise “the project” like it’s year one all over again.

Ambition isn’t the problem, it’s the lack of it around him that is.

My last post/response on this, so continue with the pitch forks.
You will find peace if you realise / accept that levy / enic dont care about trophys or cl (anymore)
We are all disappointed after all those years but that doesn't make Romero a better player or does it excuse his Interview as a vice captain 10 days before a el semi final.
If you are satisfied with romeros season and his behaviour well that's a you Problem.
I cant be bothered to list all his mistakes this season I dont have all night.

I haven’t suggested as such, but is a bit baffling that Romero is the only defender or midfielder on page 1 of the forum moaning about his mistakes.

Can you point to a direct quote stating that he doesn’t want to play for us anymore? He wants to improve and is ambitious, and wants to play in La Liga one day, what is controversial about that?
Romero is the defender we were begging to have back in January. I find it weird you think we were hating him all this time.

I can't point to a direct quote but can give you quotes which we can make implications from today:

"The league I’m missing is Spain’s. I’d love to, honestly. La Liga.

“I’d love to play there because it’s the one I haven’t played in yet."

Roma and van the man BOTH need a good old fashioned boot up the arse.. the way the performed in the first half against forest was ABSOLUTELY NO WAY acceptable.. they did stuff thats UNACCEPTABLE at Sunday league level let alone prem ...old school would be drop the fuckers into the reserve's, let's hope getting their arses subbed at half time was a wake up call.

Ange has the chance to do the best thing ever. Put that guy in the bench and don’t let him see another minute.

The team’s down, going into the most important games we have left and he says “I need to play in Spain.”

Fuuuuuck that guy.
