I like Dragusin still personally but regardless, Danso and Vuskovic are going to make this a non-issue- it’s not like Romero was all that often available anyways.
Most should have seen this move coming from a mile away.
The “leave to continue growing” bit is a nod to our apparent inability to match his ambitions- obviously our disastrous league form has only helped bolster such arguments.
His contribution over the last 2 seasons doesn't justify that attitude however.

He's desperate to leave. He's been found out in England and Spain will be easier for him if he's in a top team, since the lower teams are not that good.

And international matches. He's played (in the main) extremely well for Argentina. Messi calling him the best defender in the world etc.

People get taken in so easily by defenders/keepers who can pass the ball these days, no matter how average they can be in their primary duties. Hell, even great footballing minds fall victim to this from time to time. Remember the time when Guardiola thought Claudio Bravo would make a good/great EPL goalkeeper?

This is basic lack of communication and we conceded a similar goal against Chelsea, Romero got sucked in and VdV should be communicating or sensing the danger.
I don't think our players talk to each other on the pitch, we seriously lack leadership.

We were all blowing smoke up his arse a season or two ago. Even last year, VDV and Romero had some of the highest average ratings despite a porous defence. He got defender of the season in Italy and won the WC.
He's always been rough around the edges but there is a huge difference between his ceiling and where he's currently at for us in the league. He's a good defender playing badly, not a bad defender.
this is for Ange, they aren't shy teenagers. But he has shown that he doesn't have a clue how to organize a defence at premier league level
