Just got out of cinema watching Jaws only to see our shark of a chairman has finally been fucked off.

Gonna watch naughty nightnurses part 2 tomo to see what that does…

No doubt about it IMO. Has always done things on his own terms, I think he has left before he was removed.

I'm not sure how logical that is - he could step down as part of the sale like plenty of CEOs and Chairmen do. No reason he would have to stick around to be sacked. Stepping down as Chairman of a company you own 30% of that is about to be sold - before the sale - would be uncommon.

I think the fact they felt compelled to state flatly that there were no changes in the ownership or shareholder structure of the club points to the idea of being sold being wishful thinking. They could have easily left that part out if they were looking at selling soon.

Much like nobody saw today coming, it's just kinda hard to know or predict the question of a sale.

If Charrington and Vinai land the sponsorship/minority stake/whatever from Saudi that has been mooted, that would be an indication that this team is in it for the longer term, in theory.

It could also be a prelude to a full Saudi takeover, but they'd have to sell Newcastle first.

It's also possible that entire concept went out the door with Levy.

Same too with the return of Paratici. Maybe his return was part of this plan all along, maybe it's dead now. Only time will tell.
The above tweets if genuine suggest no sale, and lend credence to rumours of Lewis' daughter being a big sours fan and hmce driving the changes. You're right it could come out of nowhere I just don't see why you go through massive board upheaval just to sell the club 6 months later. There's just no point

He's perfect and he's ours 😍😍😍

No chance this post could ever be regretted.

The ENIC grip is simply tightening.

Not the non execs I've seen... I work mostly in shipping and logistics and have never seen one have a vote. They usually work on different committees, advise on strategy etc but I confess that ive not worked across many other industries and maybe it is different.

Its all set out in UK Companies Acts - same across all industries and companies.

Directors (not people with a courtesy title of Director) are members of a Board that manages a company, and the powers of a non exec and an exec Director are exactly the same according to UK law.

Within individual companies Directors may be given different roles.

Newcastle fans said the same. Let’s not get sucked into that illusion.

What? Newcastle went from relegation candidates to top 4 and winning a trophy mate. They’ve been catapulted up the table due to new ownership.

We are starting from a vastly superior position and unlike them aren’t banished to an absolutely nothing city.

I don't really take that statement about shareholding as any indication one way or another.

With all due respect, Newcastle aren't in London, with world class facilities. On paper, we're one of the most desirable clubs in world football.

Whoever comes in and buys isn't going to buy it as a piece of furniture. It'll be heavily invested in.
The only thing that will increase new owners investment will be winning on the pitch because pulling this lever will maximise sponsorship deals. Even though our revenue streams are on a par with all bar United our sponsorships lag behind significantly.

Of course the new owners will be about profit also.

But I hope they have the wisdom to know that the best way to make the club an absolute financial mega power is to win things constantly.
grabs more fans globally, gets big prize money consistently, gains bigger richer sponsorship.

No more of this levy 2 trophies in a quarter century bollox

Don't forget that Amanda Staverly has been in and around the club including being at games for around 6-7 months.

She was the one who got the Newcastle takeover done. This reeks of a massive injection from outside the club, possibly even a buy out.
