Honest opinion. Poch should never have been fired in 2019. Never. It's been a complete mess since hes gone. That's on the board. Curious if were getting new owners to rival city, Newcastle and psg.we need owners to take us to the elite level.
I didn’t want him gone, but in hindsight Poch was burnt out and we don’t know if he could have turned it around.

I can't help but feel that this is the first step towards a takeover. He's invested 25 years of his life into growing this club from a pauper to a player. To suddenly step down like this, effectively relinquishing control, just doesn't ring true. Do you think he'd hand over control of an enterprise, now worth Billions, to someone else when he effectively owns a quarter of it? Run the risk of someone else taking that value down?

He has potentially a Billion quid that's going to line his pockets if someone else is buying the club, that's the ONLY reason I can see him stepping down.

We've had all the talk about Staveley trying to get a group to buy a stake, maybe he's selling his? Maybe ENIC are selling up? Maybe I'm overthinking it?

We can but hope that IF this what happens, the grass is actually Greener.
That's a reasonable assumption.

If I put aside enjoyable pantomime fun of Levy Out, my genuine fear was that Levy would lead a consortium of investors to buy out Lewis. That he would install himself, and his family, as ongoing owners for generations.

He is a relic. 25 years is an eternity in most businesses, but especially elite sports. His instincts and ideas belong to a different world.

He leaves a billionaire. Most of us leave work with high blood pressure, erectile disfunction and concerns over our retirement.

You employ the chairman of Citi Bank if you want to sell an asset and get the highest price?
Perhaps Dan didn't want to see his empire being sold off?

Does this mean Airfixx is gone, too?
Why would Airfixx be gone? He has an interest in football, he does at least engage in lots of discussion around the actual football, players, matches, reffing decisions etc - can't say the same about some of his main 'opponents' here. Would seem more appropriate they would finally fuck off, but of course that would be wishful thinking, it's only Levy not ENIC gone, so they will still have plenty to aim their vitriol (and often complete lies) at, so I'm sure nothing will change in that respect. Maybe perhaps they will finally at least get over their obsession with him being bald (something which I've never understood when used in the insults - is it evil to be bald? I'm not bald myself, but I've often wondered how any bald forum members feel when Levy's baldness is so often a target for their anger... Almost childlike in it's logic... :/ ).

For me, Levy departs with far more good done than bad. Of course he made mistakes - I honestly don't believe there is a single poster on this forum who would say otherwise, even the main ones accused of loving him have many times openly critcised him on some things - but we are in a far better place than we were 25 years ago, which when you consider the cheating that a couple of clubs have done to get ahead, is pretty incredible and something we should all be very grateful for.
