Snowflake per chance? I'm sorry he suffered from depression but that doesn't excuse him cunting of the club .. it has feck all to do with being black, racist or anything else, that's just you being a dick ...

Danny said what he said .... so stop making feckin' excuses for him ... he hasn't made excuses, in fact he's manned up and said he stands by everything he said ... and whilst I disagree with him I admire him immensely for doing that ... if he's not making excuses, he sure as hell doesn't need a worm like you to do it for him ...
I find that if any one uses the word 'snowflake' they can be safely ignored as a bit of a dick.

I feel very much for Danny but he still has to behave in a professional manner and depression doesn't effect professionalism.
You are wrong there Schmood, depression does impact on people and in some cases how they conduct themselves in a professional way. Seen some people who have been able to handle it and others breakdown while presenting. It is obvious that Danny believes strongly about racism issues in the upcoming WC and who are we to tell him to shut up. It gutsy that he has spoken up, but probably because he is a Spurs player he will definitely cop some flak over it

Danny Rose represents so much to me personally. Was and still is my favourite current player. Before kane before Dier there was kane heralding the new spurs. Hard determined and talented. Despite some the brick bat's he received early in his spurs career he would flower into the storming represenive of the new spurs.

Some of my biggest battles on here was the bollocks gibbs131 use to throw his way.

I got to see him play very close and no quarter was ever given. My sons reaaly got what Rose was about. He was loaned out to Sunderland and they still adore him there. I really hope he turns in a brilliant world cup.

I have never given up on him cheared every return to the team sheet and hope he has a long career at Spurs. What he has given spurs far outweighs any personal lapses.
Rose was my favourite player until August 2017. Whilst agree with the majority of what you say (I was at The Lane the night of that goal), his personal lapses as you call them are still fair game to criticise. He did wrong. Badly. Depression or not you show professionalism. He did not and got an understandable barracking.

For his own well being he needs to leave Spurs. He quite obviously doesn't want to be here. Sell him wherever he feels he should go.

Personally I don't think he's making good choices still. His Mum was racially abused and his brother stuck up with a gun and that's the area he wants to return? That doesn't seem a sensible decision to me. But if that's what he wants to do, so be it.

I haven't told him to shut up. He should speak to the high heavens about this stuff.

There is a difference between having a breakdown at work as you've seen and Danny going to The Sun the week before a League season starts to criticise everything Spurs. Depression or not, you know that is wrong. And to think you'll get a free pass from doing that because you have depression is also wrong.

Agree to disagree

Feel sorry for Danny but he sure has a victim mentality ,Nobody is saying a bad thing about him talking about depression but every interview he does hes never positive about us always having sky digs like it’s our fault he has problems if he kept his mouth shut and was more professional like the rest of the squad then no fans would be on his back he brings it on him self I’m afraid .like any player if your not happy at the club then fuck off .

Why? free speech only if you agree with it?

Snowflake - 'a disparaging term for a person who is seen as overly sensitive and fragile'

Seemed to fit perfectly ... the internet is the home of double standards ... the place where 'snowflakes' think their opinion is right and anyone who dare disagree is wrong ...

I am very willing to accept that my opinions can be and often are completely wrong, they are after all just opinions on a football chat site, what makes me laugh is the so predictable response from the 'snowflakes' among us ...

"some of you are completely disregarding depression and mental health is pretty disgusting"
"how dare he speak out about depression. Are you black? do you suffer from depression"

All that from me saying "Danny shouldn't have gone bleating to the Sun just before a World Cup" ..... I mentioned the two Sun articles and suddenly I'm both racist and anti-mental health, he could have written about any click-bait topic he wanted, it was the timing not the subject that I objected to ... not at all sure why me being black is relevant but hey chuck that in there ...

and here's a real classic "You've never know anyone with depression" that's just dumb, I very much doubt there's anyone my age who doesn't know several people who've gone through bouts of depression, pretty much everyone on the forum will have had some greater or lesser experience of dealing with depression ...

and what about "when exactly is the right time to speak out about any issue" ... how about before you go writing a dozen articles for the Sun, of course if he'd done that the Sun would have lost interest ... in my limited experience the one constant advice people with depression receive is 'talk about it, don't hide it' not 'keep it secret from family and employer for a year then print it in a national newspaper' but hey maybe pro-footballers get different advice ... who knows

My comments were nothing to do with Danny's 'depression' it was all about his repeated running to the press and cunting Spurs off over and over ... but hey if I'm not 'sensitive and fragile' enough for you ... do you think I'm bothered?

Getting late so I'm off for a beer ... my opinion "Danny is at the route of his own problems" not to blame that's different, but his action got him to where he is, of course he needs as much help as he can be given, but he doesn't get a free pass for the things he's said .. just my opinion ...

I think he needs to leave too. I also think he'll realise the grass isn't greener but by then it will be too late.

It's just a couple of interviews, ffs. He hasn't actually said anything that offensive. Why are so many fans such delicate little petals that they can't take that?

Hope he gets over his mental health issues, and back to his best for us next season. As a Spurs player he has my support

Agreed. One that spursdem has used a lot in the past! Prime example right there.
He actually agreed with your post saying they are dicks & should be ignored!
At least he knows what he is.

Point proven.

On one hand I appreciate his willingness to speak out about it. I had some issues with depression several years ago and know many people who deal with it, and it’s good to get the taboo off and talk about it.

On the other hand, his behaviour was unacceptable before and it cannot be an excuse to everything

I invite everyone to go to the search bar and search the term "snowflake" posted by member Spursdem.

Actually I'll save you the time...

Once. I've used the term once. And the context was me mugging off another poster for using it.

Scott lies again. And continues to speak about me to others rather than to me. My man is scared of the wrath. Lil bitch.

I'd be very interested to know where the line is to some people.
“I shall not today attempt further to define the kinds of material I understand to be embraced within that shorthand description ["hard-core pornography"], and perhaps I could never succeed in intelligibly doing so. But I know it when I see it....“

Very difficult to line out something so vague and complicated.
