Ex-Spurs Player Danny Rose

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We should take him up on his offer to train at home. Don't want him corrupting our youngsters.
Seriously, that's not a bad idea. Do you really want young players training with a guy willing to waste his career like Rose has done?
Not exactly an example to young players is it. He can use the club's facilities, gym etc when it suits him but i would rather he wasn't training with impressionable young players.

I just got the shock of my life - a transfer for Danny Rose on the BBC website - unfortunately it's not the one who is still on our books :(
He's moving from Mansfield to Northampton.

BTW, Danny was linked with Portugese club Porto (replacing LB just signed by ManU I think) - the Portugese TW closes on 25 October (3 weeks time) so some time to run if its a genuine link

Used to love him, but I guess he never accepted the fact that he "got stuck" here with us, while "his mate" Walker moved #upnorth. Shame what a deluded ego does to a man. He should accept to break the contract, for his own good.

Whatever he has been like off the field on the field he managed to play for Newcastle at the end of last season and it is surprising that no one has come in for him. He is still a good player if not for us. I do hope he has not frightened other teams off by insisting on too high wages. Tottenham I believe are being realistic and would not have stood in his way. Can still see him going in the coming weeks but now the options are Championship or whatever Countries' windows are still open.

I heard that he had his access to the training centre taken away prior to his Newcastle move. I would not be surprised if his contract is not ripped up tomorrow. Pay him off. Bye bye. Go google “northern Championship clubs”

So are we not able to sell him to a Portuguese club seeing as their window doesn't shut until the end of the month? Or are his only option the Championship and other PL clubs at this point?

It's interesting how we detest it when players we like and rate leave (Mod, Bale, Berbs, Walker) and demand their loyalty but when the ones we don't like don't leave we treat them with vitriolic contempt.
Does loyalty not work both ways? Or do we only want the 'good' players to be loyal?

For the record it's clear and has been for some time he's no future at Spurs but I won't condemn him for not fucking off to clubs he feels are not right for him (not sure who they are). If he'd fucked off 3 or 4 years ago people would've been fuming with him and the club.

I think the club got this badly wrong and should've looked to replace him when the first whiff of trouble started and his stock was very high. Rose is Rose, it was up to the management (Poch and Levy) to deal with him. Good luck to him wherever he ends up, he was with us a very long time and had some very good years.

Think you answer your own question ...

If he'd fucked off 3 or 4 years ago people would've been fuming with him and the club - true but that's because like Mod, Bale, Berbs, Walker he was an integral part of the starting eleven at the time.

Now he's just a leech taking a pay check and contributing nothing, so of course we want him out.

Is he being loyal to Spurs or to his bank account?

Totally agree that the first time he ran his mouth with the press Poch/Levy should have said, do that again and you're gone, then second time out he goes. We would have got top dollar and somebody else would have had the problems ... easy in hindsight and a lesson hopefully learned by the club.
