Ex-Spurs Player Danny Rose

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

To be fair to Danny Rose when he goes on his forward runs the midfield need the discipline for someone to drop back and cover his position. This has not been happening in the last two games and has left us exposed down the left. We win or lose as a team, I was worried about this exposure during the Woolwich game, but I was very surprised to see the same flaw last night, it needs sorting out and quick.

Even with Davies there we would have trouble, Eriksen doesn't help out and we get exposed down the left all the time, its our weakness and has been all year

True but I think Davies is positionally better than Rose, Rose is great in games where we are on the front foot, the end to end see-saw that was yesterday I think would have fitted Davies better.

This is spot on.

They are both solid in my opinion and competition is great to have, but Davies was bad positional wise in the Sheffield games against a weaker opponent, Once again I'm putting it down to growing pains, I don't mind either in the team. but we have very little width as is, and taking more away could be a concern

I agree on Sheffield United, Davies had probably his worst game for us, he had some really good performance just prior.

Davies and Rose both fluctuate. Partly due to the protection they receive and partly because of themselves (inexperience etc).
Davies was quality against Swansea and Man Utd but shocking in some Europa games etc. Rose has been a bit more consistent but overall I think it's just about rotating them and using the in-form LB as first choice for league games each game at a time.

Thought he was one of our best today. He has improved so much under Pochettino. Another season with Mauricio with this level of improvement and I truly believe he could be a decent shout to be on the plane to France in 2016. Still a long way to go in his progression but he's starting to look like a really piece for us going forward.

His delivery is miles ahead of Walker's by now - which is a shame for the latter seeing that he goes past players with ease and then hits the worst crosses ever

He's certainly improving, but I'd still say he's a left midfielder and will never make a top class left back.

Whispering this, but remember the last left back we converted into a winger, who was fast as fuck and had a nice shot on him? Rose also has the advantage in this because he used to be a winger anyway.

That's why he is getting selected, as this formation only works when the full backs get forward, and Rose is one of the best at it

Agreed. Just look at some of the positions he takes up. Stoke away last year and Chelsea at home spring to mind this season where he's found himself at the back post.
