So we have two defenders ranked 44 and 50 in Davies and Walker? Terrible stats!!! Strange how they make up 50% of the best defensive back line in the prem with only 5 goals conceded ALL SEASON. One of them an own goal.

By the way...You are the guy who despises the modern trend of people using stats. You have become what you hate. There is a good reason why some people hate stats. After all...Some idiots put up stats to compare players who have a massive one game sample size to get their data from.

:avbcringe:

Davies is doing a good job defensively. And he seems to slowly improve offensively.

Attacking I don't think anyone thinks Davies is better than Rose though. And the thing is, as long as we play with inverted wingers, the attacking contribution of our full backs is rather important. Davies has gotten some very fine balls from Alderweireld to work with, but has done little to get anything of value out of them. If we had Rose in those situations he would make sure to give the opponents massive problems. If our opponents had Rose to worry about, it could really help us stretch their defense to create rooms for our other attacking players. It's not all about the goals or assists he will create.

Defensively it's not as clear cut. Some, like Gibbs, will claim that Davies is clearly the better defender. I disagree. You can talk about this years defense vs last years defense, but we all know that's not down to Davies vs Rose. Last season our left side was by far the strongest part of our defense. Our CBs had problems, our right side had huge problems, our left side was fine. That was mostly down to Rose doing a hell of a good job.

Davies is a better header? I'm not so sure about that. He might be a bit taller than Rose, but doesn't have the same athletisism - he can't jump as high as Rose. Rose might be a sloppy tackler, but he gets the job done. He might be a bit over aggressive, but a lot of times that gives him one up against the wingers he faces. His pace and acceleration, both far superior to Davies', get both him and team mates out of jail very often.

Some say Davies' passing is better. I disagree. Gibbs post Davies' stats from the City game, showing a 65% pass accuracy. That's not really impressive from a defender, is it?

Please note that this has nothing to do with disprespecting Davies. He's been fine. Personally I'd say he's probably the least impressive player in our lineup, mainly due to his offensive limitations, but he's been doing good this season.

The thing is though, I just think Rose is a player that, based on what he did last season, and especially in the last half of the season, should be one of the first on our team sheet. He's one of our better players. And his offensive contribution is vital for our strategy, in my opinion, especially against the weaker, buss parking sides.

Davies vs City (from Macch)

Blocks - 8
Clearances - 12
Interceptions - 1
Crosses - 3
Chances created - 2
Passing % - 65%

So there it is. My opinion backed up via stats. And the biggest stat is he was making these defensive feats against City.

Like I said...Upgrade from the stream and start watching the players you talk shit about.

65%... that's pretty low. So his passing out of the back isn't all you make it out to be? Care to address what I've asked you to address for the last three posts about his lower passing percentage to Rose's?

Care to detail how many of those 9 corners Davies was involved in mopping up?

Again, you're completely dodging what I'm asking. Showing me all his stats against City are irrelevant -- there's no direct comparison to be had.

The clearances stat...

Do you get a clearance if when you get the ball you just blast it the fuck away? If so, would a defender who blasted the ball the fuck away instead of starting a counter attack with a great pass be getting better stats?

You were asked several times to elaborate on your random statistics (CITY HAD 9 CORNERS WOW) and you haven't been able to do it. We've tried getting away from the surface level statistics -- you're the one keeping them at the center of the conversation.

Beale is just mocking you.

Ignored everything but the passing? What is wrong with you? Plus you say my claim about his passing out of the back isn't what I made it out to be? While ignoring 2 chances created? You ask for proof, get stats up the ass regarding positive clearances and blocks JUST LIKE I CLAIMED...Then claim I am ignoring your questions?

Just like your claim of our transfer window was wrong, you are wrong about our new look back line. I asked for steel and I got it. Defending corners and scoring from corners against world class players. We are no longer a soft touch. Thanks to Dier, Davies, Walker, Toby, Jan, Kane and other 6 footers like Alli making us more formidable.

Your shit talking about Davies is a face palmer. You didn't watch the game properly so you ask me what happened? That is a first. Stats back up my claims. But fuck it...A HISTORIC WIN AGAINST THE LEAGUE FAVORITES also hints to our defense being solid with Davies in it.

Man up and admit you were wrong about Davies and move on.

I think so, thats why Rose has such low clearance numbers, he's more of a play it out from the back type of guy.

Stop deflecting.

Again I'll ask -- care to comment on Rose having a higher passing accuracy than Davies? Or are you going to dodge it for a fourth time? That was, after all, one of your arguments for Davies > Rose. It would seem, based on the stats you keep swearing by, Rose is a better passer -- and he certainly creates more chances overall, something you've even ceded was true several times already. Davies' passing out of the back isn't as good as Rose's -- ergo, it is, quite literally, not what you made it out to be.

Again I'll ask -- care to elaborate on the NINE CORNERS that City had and Ben Davies' direct involvement in snuffing out said corners? Or are you going to dodge that question for a fourth time as well?

Davies is a solid defender. He isn't as good as Rose.

on a side note -- if you think I can't get a stream that's TV quality online then you clearly don't realize it's the year 2015.

I ignored him but I've just seen the nonsense he replied to my comment. Firstly, i love stats. I studied the fucking subject for two years. Secondly, is it just me or does his post seem like the ramblings of someone who's been shown up by irrefutable evidence?

If Mad Yid were still around, he could counter you with a bikini pic of a serious piece of ass with a nine inch dick hanging out of her bikini. Might prove Totti Totti 's simile regarding statistics.
Nah i made him delete all of his pictures of me a while back.

My pennies worth is that the difference between them in overall quality is negligible. Although my preference is Rose.

But, they offer different things.

If we want defensive stability at a sacrifice of attacking flair, mainly against the big sides, use Davies.

If we want an attacking outlet, with the possibility of being susceptible to the counter, use Rose.

Both have their good/bad attributes, both won't let you down.
