Don't think there's any truth in that. Antony will probably cost around €60m when he moves.
Rumours were that £35million would get him, now seems as though £45million is closer to the fee.

Still what's Ginge? £8.3million loan and £40 million permanent fee?

Could be wrong, but I think it's 8m or so for an 18 month loan and then 29m for the permanent fee if activated this summer, 33m if activated next summer. Antony looks some player though, his touch is unbelievably good.

I think it's more typical of Spurs either going for the cheap alternative or mates rates rather than the best available.

Is Diaz any better than Anthony?? I seriously doubt it.

Can he play on the left? Because he looks to have a great left-foot so it might actually be an idea to try him on that side.

God knows we need some decent delivery into the box from the flanks, he may be able to offer that from his stronger side.

You have to take into account who's attainable. Players like Antony, Nkunku and Raphina know they're good, and know the likes of Bayern, Barca, Madrid, PSG, Chelsea
will be in for them come summer. You can try to sign the likes of Kounde, Pau Torres or Schlotterbeck, but they know they'll end up somewhere better if they sit tight for 6-12 months. The issue isn't buying guys who aren't ready made stars, it's not scouting correctly and making sure the guys we do sign are technically, physically and mentally suited to eventually getting to that level. Emerson's basic ability to receive and pass the ball should have been sussed out by whoever it was at the club that went through his performances from the last few years. As bad as his performance was the other day, I think he's a decent RB who's just kind of drowning in a position that expects far to much from a player of his ability.

Diaz was a good sign of intent to be fair, he's a good athlete and a safer bet to be ready for the PL than Antony right now, imo.

And that's why we're such a conundrum of a club. What are we, are we a big club, a wannabe big club, or a club building.

You're right about signing players, there are players who regardless of who our manager is will not want to come to us. It would have been very interesting if we had got Ten Hag if we would have sold Kane and then spent the money on the players he wanted. Would have been interested if they had wanted to come. I fully believe they would have with the knowledge of what he could do and what he had done for them.

Also we really need to rethink our signing policy. We seem to settle for players who have had one breakout season and that's more than enough. Botman for example, is he rated any higher than Schuurs, his Dutch under 21 team mate? Is he worth potentially £20million more.

Who knows, not our scouts, that's for sure.

Early days and I’m sure he will adapt to the English league. But he has the turning circle of a HGV at the moment. Needs to be much sharper even if he doesn’t have pace.

Early days but we looked worse with him on and that's AFTER Lucas having a generally terrible performance.
Not aimed at you but I’ve seen a few people sneezing at Lucas performance and I’m wondering if I watched something different first half, when his running with the ball and passing was a huge outlet and his delivery got the second goal was sceptical while his side rule pass for goal 1 (not his first of the match either) was like peak David Silva.

He was involved in both goals but I thought he was really poor in his general play outside of those two instances.

I'm a big Lucas fan and accept his flaws but they were more prevalent against Southampton than I'd seen for a while.

This is it right here. This is my biggest issue with our squad since Dembele left. It is so frustrating to watch Sissoko, Winks, Sanchez, just about the entire squad and how awful they are technically with the basics. A simple pass in to feet bounces 2 yards away. Even Son has this issue although he more than makes up for it with his ability elsewhere.

Kane and now Romero are about the only two footballers at Spurs that I have any confidence in technically.

This guy really need to step up. He is no better than what we alaready had infact probably worse as he has no pace. I don’t get the logic behind this purchase at all. We let Gil go on loan back to Spain where he is not gonna learn how to play in the PL but has 5 months at of playing here. Then buy this guy whose had experience of PL, been sat on the bench for juve and generally been short since they bought him and looks even less suited to pl than Gil. At Gil would try take on players and draw fouls. We should have just kept and gave him gane time here and there to get use to the PL. if he comes back he needs to start all over again. Complete muddled up thinking. I blame patrici!

“I don’t know what my best value is technically, but I can say that I never give up. Anything can happen, but I know what I want and I always keep my head up.” Kulusevski

This is the player I want playing for Spurs, one that gives his all and plays for the shirt not himself!

Would you say that if winks, royal, Sanchez or any other one of out shite players said the sane thing😀

He needs time to adapt. PL is much quicker than what he's used to. His game needs him to build a connection with Son, Harry and that won't happen immediately.

That's not to say he can't contribute, but I think it will be patchy to start with. Next season hopefully we'll start to see what he's capable of.

One thing to remember, this isn't a punt by Paratici - he has watched a lot of him, more than anyone on this board. Close up in training at Juve and on the pitch. So he's very well placed to judge for sure. He knows his attitude is good, and he knows his talent. Might not be obvious straight away, but we need to be patient.

Let’s hope so but juve weren’t keen to keep him is kind of a red flag. Just seems a bit illogical to get someone in who will need time to adjust but we already Gil who had 6 months already here and may have been adjusting. We should may be have just let his education of the PL continue with us. At the end of the day we have lost lamela his replacement and now have someone else in who will need time and may or may not make it. In monetary terms we have spent £20M plus lamela and not another £8M loan fee and we don’t have a player to jump straight into starting 11. Joined up thinking not. This happens all the time. Instead just spending the money on adding proven quality we keep squandering money on “may be”s”.

I thought Gil loan was a strange one, but Conte clearly thinks he's not for us, mainly as too lightweight. So the calculation seems to be to put him back in the shop window at Valencia with a view to a sale unfortunately.
