Player Dejan Kulusevski

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

hes the sort of player that gets better with better quality in and around him. although kane has been scoring hes not been anywhere near his best and sons been awful. when the players around him are bang at it hell be thriving as hes a team player not an individual. still think he needs the runs of doc to help either give him another option or take defenders away from him, emerson doesnt offer that threat as a wingback.
Spence will provide that as he has real pace.

Unfortunately he is being handicapped by Emerson Royal. I know defensively he has been solid but he offers little to no overlap meaning Kulusevski is usually double marked by the left back and the opposition winger who gets to that position before Emerson does.
It's easy to read his next move when there is no support and because he doesn't rely on pace its even more easier for the oppoitions left back.

Has a hard time getting off shots. And when he has gotten them off, 5 of his last 6 shots have been blocked. He needs to quickly add something to his game else otherwise his attacking threat in and around the box is going to quickly diminish.

because why are the defenders going to worry about emerson? hes not going to take defenders away from him because they know its a non threat.
Kulu was getting shots and crosses off last season with relative ease. He played with Doc and Emerson and looked fine.

Now teams have studied video on him and have played against him - they know what he's going to do.

I think he just needs to improve going to his right bc everyone knows he's going to his left right now. Unless he's got Robben's pace and agility, it's going to get exposed rather quickly.

But I do agree, having a more threatening partner on the right would take some pressure off of him.

i think if you put doc with him again hell be back to his best. hes not even got a wingback has he, his right side partner is a rb who offers no help in the attacking sense.

a lot of the time its like he has 3 opposition players to deal with. the only thing he can get off is the cut inside and clip a cross in. other than that hes smothered as he has no help. stick an aggressive doherty run in and it will take players away from him and free up some space.

Kulu's been a 10/10 signing thus far.

Only minor concern I have after watching the Forest game is that maybe he's starting to get found out a little bit. A lot of his moves on the ball in and around the box were getting shut down whereas when he first joined, he was gliding past players with ease.

I'm sure teams and defenders are now doing their homework on him and watching film. He's going to eventually need to adjust somehow to add more to his game as he doesn't have blistering pace and/or agility for a winger.

With the head on his shoulders, I've got no doubt he'll be able to keep improving but just an observation.
Yes, I’ve been thinking the same. There are one or two signs that opposition defences are beginning to work him out a bit. Several times recently he has cut inside for a shot and had his shot blocked where last season defenders were slow to spot this. He is a quality player but I think the thing that may stop him from becoming a truly elite player is his lack of pace especially in his current position. He finds space cleverly and is technically good but a quick defender is able to recover because of his lack of natural speed especially when he often finds himself isolated up front with little help from his wing back

He won't ever have insane pace, but he is good enough and smart enough that he can evolve to develop counters for their counters. And despite what anybody says, he's still the only one that laid an assist on tonight, and he didn't even get a full 90 where he might have done more, especially combining with Richy instead of Son.

In retrospect it does seem likely Conte was resting Kulu for the weekend, indicating Son is likely to be benched for Richy.

Kane, Son, Kulusevski, Richarlison...

Fuck me that's some forward line!!

Yes, Man City have got that freak beast up front, and Liverpool will always convince the world they have the best attackers,

But seriously, all FOUR of ours are world class...

Before last season, (when Deki arrived) I can't remember a time when we had more than TWO world class attackers... now we have FOUR!

I would be interested to see how Deki would play as a number 10.

Good player but I think we have overrated him a little which is not necessarily a bad thing as most fans will always have bias toward their own players.

Very few of us can look at a player and judge him objectively without any emotions or biases.
