Player Dejan Kulusevski

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I’m glad you posted that because I couldn’t understand the raving about his performance today like he’d been peak Messi. And that pretty much confirms what I thought. He was decent but not as spunktastic as some were making out.

He did a few decent things today, couple of good dribbles, scored obviously, but really didn’t create anything outstanding all game, and actually faded second half, despite being given more freedom.Completing 9 of his 29 passes second half. Received it 15/40 second half.

Maddison is getting pelters in his thread but he saw as much of the ball in 45 minutes as Kulusevski did in 97, and Maddison’s XA was double (0.33) Kulusevski’s (0.16).

Maddison wasn’t as bad as being made out, and Kulusevski wasn’t as fabulous as made out either.

BC’s heard of my philosophy too!

Consistency is key. Carry on like this and he'll be the player of the season. He was unplayable vs united then withered (like everyone else) vs Brighton. Needs to back this up with the same again next week.

I’m very surprised you couldn’t understand why everyone thought Kulusevski played great while you thought the complete opposite.

You’re the most credible poster here when it comes to Kulusevski. I thought he played really well but after your unbiased post, I’m not so sure he’s even worth starting.

Thanks for your knowledgeable opinion!

Not what I said. He was decent first half, but it’s got to the point where all he has to do is a couple of ok things and he’s “sensational”. The desperation to be “right” about him is adding a few layers of cake to everything he does.

Second half he was barely involved. Completing 9 of his 29 passes second half. Received it 15 times second half - 25 first

He is and has always been a central attacking midfielder. He doesn't have the game to often be effective out wide.

Like Kane for us, he has a wonderful footballing brain.

Utter nonsense, but thanks for popping in.

If you can’t understand why people raved about Kulus performance today then it’s because of at least one of the below points:

1. You didn’t watch the game
2. You don’t have a fucking clue about football
3. Your disgusting anti-Kulu bias

Just admit you were wrong about him, then be quiet for a while.

I have a sort of grudging respect for people who were Kulu out, still coming on here and defending their position, even if it’s morphed more into ‘Kulu meh’ these days. I do think you’re all completely wrong though. He’s just a fantastic player.

Maybe not world class yet, but I firmly believe he will be, because his mentality is world class and he’s an intelligent man on a mission to be one of the best. Every time I hear him interviewed, I come away more fired up for the future of our team. He’s direct, honest but has unwavering confidence. The fact that he’s being sent out to do media pretty much every week now, shows that the club see it too. Ange likes to give leadership roles to the older players and I respect that, but if we can keep him, it’s part of his future.

I wondered if I’ve written this as a biased fan girl, but it’s Kulu’s mentality that makes me a biased fan girl. (Oh, and the way defenders bounce off him, the sweet left foot and all those sexy back-heels…. 😍)

I thought he was our best attacker when he first signed. Then I thought he'd been found out on the wing and wasn't effective at all and would maybe be a number 10. Now I think he's found himself as an 8/10 hybrid and with that is coming with a bit more consistency. If (like yesterday)for better balance it's between him and maddison for the creative role it's not even debatable for me which one starts right now.

I think this past 12 months has said a lot about Kulusevski’s mental fortitude.

He’s clearly not first choice for RW, came out and said he saw himself as more of a 10. Ange questioned that and he’s gone and put himself in the bracket of our most influential midfielder playing as a hybrid 8/10 position. And crucially scores goals

Probably someone who really “gets” what Ange wants to achieve and through hard work he’s one of the first names on the team sheet now. That’s what makes footballers. That determination to get on the pitch and not be content with the bench.

Fair play to him. Reminds me of both Dembele and modric (although it was more Redknapps choice to play him wide) who started in wide positions and became prime CMs for us.

Seems like a top guy too. Be great to see him succeed in lilywhite.
