Player Djed Spence

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Spence working out finally is a massive touch. He's homegrown, tall and decent in the air for set pieces and covers both RB and LB. Plus he has all the tools required to play this system. If he has got his head together he's save us 30-40m at least.

And it is pure luck because they were 100% looking to sell him.

You ever worry that alot of the time even with the whole ' new scouting networks ' and data driven guff we still come across abit...shopping trolley?

He's doing all the right things atm

Just need him to continue all the things he's changed whether its being on time for everything, playing in different positions if the manager asks, tracking back whenever an attack breaks down, putting maximum effort into every match played, supporting team from bench where not playing etc.

Every chance he will play 30+ matches this season covering several positions - and that gives him the opportunity to stay at Spurs or move on with his career rebuilt if that's his choice. But next season every possibility he'll be a big bonus to have in the squad

If I told you I've just worked with Willem Defoe... Would anyone believe me??

It’s all good and well that he seems to have a positive attitude now in pre season but the true test will come when things are not looking too good and he’s not playing as much as he would like. His reaction to that will tell us if he really has turned a corner.

He hasn't worked out finally, he's had a couple of good pre season games against lower league quality oppos. Let's not get silly and pretend a million players for a million different clubs in the past haven't had bright pre-seasons only to not do it competitively or keep it up.

I am never convinced by a single player renaissance until they've done it for a very reasonable period of time in competitive games. I still remember when Emerson and Sanchez had proven all of us wrong apparently.

I think Spence has more talent than these players but a lot to prove still.

I meant that post as an if he works out. Also said if he can keep his head together.

Not even close to saying more than that yet

Lol. Know a lot of Gen Z mate? Yes I know I know...its fucking pathetic. BUT they did not do this to themselves. So we need thank a whole lot of people, start with Sir Tim Berners-lee, the mug who invented attachment theory, Steve Jobs. It's a long damn list. The 'Eee when I were a lad' stuff will not change it. If we genuinely ever have to fight a war we are stuffed.
People say stuff like this all the time like no 20+ year old was ever late and lazy in the 'old days'.

It's a myth.

Yeah we seem to lurch around a fair bit. The loan planning, the profile of target, it feels pretty scatter gun..

I think there is more clarity these days but there has reportedly always been 2 budgets, one for first team players and one for young players to loan out and see how they develop. The young player thing can be scattergun like the Veliz signing but sometimes those young players work out like Udogie and Sarr.

Why are you writing off Veliz after 6 months of a bad loan?
