Djed has always had loads of detractors on here because Cunte Conte made it known he was a club signing. Obviously all the Levy haters jumped on that and wanted him to fail

No that's not accurate. I hate Levy and always backed Djed Spence. Please stop grafting this,pro anti ENIC narrative on to everything. Life is not some inane binary choice. That's the thinking that's tearing the world apart.

He’s got world class physical qualities as a RB. He’s big enough to play CB and has excellent aerial presence. He is very smooth and composed on the ball for a player his size and was a scary presence when breaking past midfield and joining the attack against Bayern. He’s obviously got great technical potential too. A long way to go still but Djed could be an absolute monster for us in this hybrid lb/rb backup role, and pick up a ton of minutes. For a player with his physical gifts he really should be shooting to be a starter for England. Great to see him excelling in the last game.

Not sure about his potential as a CB but he could break into the England squad if he keeps his nut down.

If Davies is a big step down then we a bit exposed there. On the basis that Philips is not yet trusted in the first XI.

VDV is good at LB, but that leaves us with just two trusted CBs (Romero and Dragu). I guess Davies can cover there, but not ideal.
 
In what is so far a window only Levy would be proud of, I'm absolutely loving the rehab of Djed I have to say. This guy has the potential to take the England shirt off Kyle Walker's back. Hope he is hungry for it, and sees he has one chance to be an elite player and will never get this chance again.
 
Good news if that’s the way it goes. Saying that, it’s never been in doubt he has the talent, it’s always been about his application I think.
