Kane and Dier both starting despite playing 90 minutes on Sunday?

Get fucked Gary, you utter, utter cunt.

Plonker should have started either Abrahams or Calvin -Lewin to find out whether either or both can be a decent option when Kane is not available through being played too much. Instead he plays Kane for 76 mins before bringing on Abraham,

Guy should be fired - his job as England manager is to get a decent squad together......instead he tries to play nearly 'his best team'.........so fails to learn anything about other possible starters. And needs to know nothing more about Kane.

England (3-4-3): 1 Jordan Pickford (Everton); 2 Kyle Walker (Manchester City), 4 Eric Dier (Tottenham Hotspur), 5 Harry Maguire (Manchester United; 3 Kieran Tripper (Atletico Madrid), 7 Mason Mount (Chelsea), 8 Declan Rice (West Ham United), 20 Bukayo Saka (Woolwich); 19 Phil Foden (Manchester City), 9 Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur) ©, 16 Jack Grealish (Aston Villa)

Substitutes:
12 Tyrone Mings (Aston Villa) for Walker 64’, 14 Harry Winks (Tottenham Hotspur) for Mount 64’, 11 Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund) for Grealish 76’, 21 Tammy Abraham (Chelsea) for Kane 76’, 17 Ainsley Maitland-Niles (Woolwich) for Tripper 85’

Substitutes not used:
6 Michael Keane (Everton), 13 Nick Pope (Burnley), 15 Ben Chilwell (Chelsea), 18 Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Everton), 22 Dean Henderson (Manchester United), 23 Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund)

England squad really starting to look quite strong - albeit lacking in genuine depth in some positions - which is down to a number of players getting though the youth academy systems and not a lot to do with Southgate and co..

Assuming a squad of 23 called up today, and Southgate seeming to play 3 CB's I'd guess :

GK - Pope, Henderson, Pickford

CB's - Walker, Maguire, Dier, Gomez + one from Mings/Keane/Coady

FB's - TAA, James, Trippier, Chilwell (Trippier being one option to cover LB, Shaw not in contention atm)

CMs - Henderson, Rice, Foden + one of Winks/Philips/JWP/Mount

Wide AM's - Rashford, Sterling, Sancho, Grealish

Strikers - Kane, Calvert-Lewin + either Abraham or Ings

A number of others might fancy their chances - Shaw and Saka at LB, Vardy (if he wanted to play for England again), Maddison, Barkley and Barnes as AM's (and further removed from the squad are Oxlade-Chamberlain, Loftus -Cheek, Lingard and other CM/AM's), whilst ManU must be wondering why they paid so much for Wan-Bissaka and there's more CB's available than ever before with Tarkowski, Tomori and Stones not included (albeit last 2 not playing as much for their clubs as they used to)

A few in E u21's (who have a strong squad atm) might well get promoted either later this season or early next season - maybe James Justin (Leicester LB), Mason Greenwood (who has played a couple of games for senior team).... and I wouldn't rule out Oliver Skipp next season taking the place of Henderson or Rice.

Spurs interest is obviously Skipp, Sessegnon and Tanganga (also with Noni Mandueke , former Spurs u16 captain who joined PSV rather than the 'no pathway to first tram' under Poch')

A lot of well known names in the squad, established first team squad players, despite a few notable injuries such as Justin (Leicester) and a few who might be elevated to England first team such as Bellingham and James. Very different from 5 years ago when few u21's were playing in PL on a regular basis

There was a time, not so long ago when Spurs players made up for approx 6 first-team places

Whilst Poch oversaw so many of the new caps, Jose just makes sure he destroys the careers of others!

Well done to Lingard and Shaw who have had their International careers back on track now they are no longer managed by the dinosaur.

Hang on in their Dele and Winks, time is ticking on the dino.

On paper we have a good, exciting 11 potentially. But Southgate, nice as bloke as he is, will no doubt pick the most boring 11 possible devoid of any flair or creativity. For that squad I'd like to see something like this against the San Marino strawberry pickers team:

Henderson

James
Stones
Mings
Shaw

Rice
Mount
Lingard

Foden
Sterling
Kane

What we will probably get:

Pope

Walker
Maguire
Stones
Chilwell

Rice
Ward-Prowse
Mount

Rashford
Sterling
Kane

Can't believe I'm actually typing Lingard again in a thread about England. But fair play to the fella, you can't argue with his performances for West Ham or his 5 goals in 7 games. Plus he's always done alright for England, like Welbeck and Pickford, even if they were being turd for their clubs at the time.

Think his squad selection shows why he isn't a good manager.

HOW can Dier still get into that squad. Every week we see him play he is crap and now he's been dropped.

I don't rate Southgate at all. Every time England play someone half decent England cannot compete with them at all because Southgate's tactics are so limited.

A bit like Spurs , England's best assets are the forwards and yet Southgate will probably play a back 3 which doesn't sort his forward line or attacking players at all.

With everyone fit we have Kane, Sterling, Sancho, Rashford, Foden, Grealish, Mount, Barnes... That's enough to tear pretty much anyone else a second arse-hole if used correctly.

Like Spurs, I just want to see us do what we should be brilliant at.

Sadly it'll be a back 3 and probably a Kane Mount Grealish front 3 or something on those lines.

It won't work well at all. It should be Kane up front but with at least 1 pacey player playing off him as his hold up play works so well for that.

Not strictly just England but not sure where else to put list of players away on International Duty.

Resting - Hart, Reguilon, Sanchez, Lo Celso, Winks, Moura, Lamela, Son, , Vinicius

So maybe 5 of our possible starting X1 (Reguilon, Sanchez, Lo Celso, Moura, Son) fully rested plus a couple of subs.

Others mainly play on Wednesday before a Sunday game.

Not ideal but could be worse. -

Some interesting and even scary England best 11's for the Euro's this summer by Sky Sports writers. Why is Harry Maguire in everyone's team? He should be nowhere near. Surely Stones and one from Keane or Mings would be better choices, even though they're far from great themselves.

It's a shame Joe Gomez has been injured a lot this season, he would have been a perfect partner for Stones and offers genuine pace none of others do.

Christ moussa sissoko still in the french squad. Hes either the greatest con man of all time or the greatest digger up of dirt on managers ever. Baffling.
On another note matt doherty was ok for ireland tonight. Nothing spectacular but decent. Played right wing in a 3-4-3
