So you’re arguing that ticket prices should simply be a function of trophies won over the last decade? Got it.

If your ticket prices are going to be up there with the highest in the football world then yes, I'd expect the club charging that to be up there trophy wise, rather than one racking up less silverware than Wigan in the last decade.

Couple that with some of the eye wateringly bad football we've served up under Jose & Nuno in recent years (hardly heartracing right now either) and wow, we really do charge gucci prices for a matalan product.

“Tottenham, when I took over, was a much smaller club than it is today.

“I saw this club as a sleeping giant.

“We are now in a period where we need to win.

“I am a Spurs fan and I want to see this club continue to grow — and I want to see trophies.”

Daniel Levy 2019.

Keep the faith.
They are coming……..

Does that mean that every home team is entitled to charge more for a game against City than Bournemouth because surely the opposition’s football is part of ‘what they get’?

More successful clubs charge higher prices because they've built up more prestige & can attract better players. That history of success is part of what the clubs buy in to when they pay higher prices, a belief that it will continue. If it doesn't for a long time then generally prices drop.

We haven't achieved any silverware in nearly 15 years. Our high prices are based on a gucci belt of a flashy manager, stadium & training facilities. There's the veneer of success without the meat behind the bones, i.e a high wage bill, silverware in the cabinet, elite squad depth across the field.

We're a club charging 'elite' prices and fans still have to watch Doherty or Emerson take turns to stink up RWB.

Yeah, it’s not like other factors such as location has anything to do with it.
On field success? That’s probably why West Ham charge more than Man City.

City offer incredible value for money tickets, location is a factor but nearly all the clubs with the highest ticket prices are highly successful teams, both historically and recently.

And highly successful = trophies in hand. Not getting to finals or semi finals. Not being quite good. Winning.

Ticket prices don’t really bother me tbh, if it bothers the match going fans, they can do what liverpool did a few years back and do a walk out

Wow .. so we charge the same or more than clubs who do all that but actually rack up trophies? Just because we happen to be involved sometimes and even make the odd final? Which we inevitably seem to lose comfortably?

Seems a pretty raw deal to me.
The amount a club charges is not linked to trophies nor should it give you an expectation of trophies.

Do you go to a restaurant in London and complain that food is more expensive than a restaurant in Manchester or Liverpool or Barcelona?
